MESSAGE: KOKI TANAKA 2010/11/15
From the start I’ve been saying that “oh! I like this tune” for the song “Change UR World”. Everyone said that “let’s make a KAT-TUN-like song”, and we have about 8 songs to choose from. Everyone had different opinions, and we reduced the options to 2 songs. In the end, we decided on “Change UR World”.
From the 2 songs, the other one was used as coupling, and it’s “REMEMBER”.
Despite so, this single was very hard to produce. Apart from Ueda’s “Neetman”, everything else has rap in it right. Because there’s a need to create a different feeling for all the rap parts, so it was very hard. There’s a feeling of “This time, I’ve done my job!” (laugh). But it was very fun. Did it with lots of fun!
For the rap, “Change UR World” was the easiest to do, followed by Taguchi’s “GIRLS”. I’ve asked Taguchi, and heard that it’s a reggae style song, so the rap also needs to be of reggae style. But it was done quite fast.
For “NEVER X OVER ~ [-] IS YOUR PART”, I spent 3 days writing it. Didn’t sleep for 2 nights. Thought about it for really long, because I felt that it will be really boring if we introduce ourselves during the “Members’ Introduction” part. Since it will be sold as a CD, then there should be lyrics booklet right. Thinking that everyone will be able to remember the lyrics, I made it with the brackets such that the words in the brackets will be sung by the fans.
Hence it’s like “[-] IS YOUR PART”. Even though it’s already recorded as a CD, it’s still incomplete. This song will only be complete when fans sing it together during Live. The “Member Introduction” part was super hard. There was the feeling of “now then start writing”, and the selling points around me are also different from what I want to express…it’s hard! (*)
For the filming of “Change UR World” video clip, because it started early in the morning, so there were times in the middle when I felt like I don’t have any energy (laugh). But same as “NMP”, to say that it’s of “KAT-TUN stlye”, that’s how this video was recorded. Felt like it’s the original KAT-TUN. There’s a good feeling.
Not just the video clip, for this single, as a whole, it is very “KAT-TUN Style”, no matter which song you listen to I think that it has the KAT-TUN feeling to it. Hence, for the Limited Edition 1, Limited Edition 2 and the Regular Edition, I hope that you’ll purchase all of them!
(*) sorry i'm not very sure about this part...i think he's trying to say that "why didn't i start writing it earlier" and somehow the things don't turn out as how he expected it to be?
woohoo i'm halfway through my exams! still have 6 more papers jeex. thought i should take a break.
anyway! here's what i plan to do after exams:
1) Translate R-ONE KAT-TUN, #240, 241, 242 etc (unless they have already been done by others? (: )
2) yes i want to rewatch CARTOON KAT-TUN, because i've yet to finish watching it, so i thought i should start all over again, and make a summary video/videos about the episodes, like "Things to watch out for ep 1-5" and so on. haha i miss them! how's that? i think i'll try one and see how it turns out (:
