Character Name: Zepia Eltnam Oberon, the Night of Wallachia (for the purposes of Mayfield I request that he be called Z. E. *insert last name here*
Character Series: Melty Blood (Tsukihime)
Character Age: Rather vague; but probably several centuries.
Background:
Wiki The Nasuverse can be a confusing and contradictory mess of terms and ideas, so here's an overtly simplified version. Zepia Eltnam Oberon was an alchemist who discovered that the world would inevitably end. This knowledge drove him to become a Dead Apostle; that is a vampire, and then shuck off his entire physical body with the power of the 'Crimson Moon', basically the avatar of the moon itself and the progenitor of all vampires. He did this to alter the fate of the world, achieving a miracle that is referred to as both 'The Sixth' and 'the defiance of the Sixth' (it's a bit unclear, but then he's crazy). He then proceed to exist as TATARI, a sentient rumor curse that goes around the world, appearing in predetermined points and causing rumors in that area to come to life, especially when the full moon comes. The rumors are always made to cause a massacre of all beings in the area. For example, a rumor of a bountiful crop harvest would happen, but it would be caused by bodies used as fertilizer. He received his title 'The Night of Wallachia', from his first recorded appearance where he appeared in a village that feared the return of Vlad Tepes Dracula (who was likely only a human in the Nasuverse).
He went on this merry, drinking every drop of blood in every place he appeared when he encountered his descendant, Sion Eltnam Atlasia. Recognizing her as another being who depended on the information of others (that's what he said, anyway), he let her live, but caused her to slowly develop vampirism by drinking three liters of her blood. At any rate, it was so she could be a potential successor to his existence as TATARI.
His next appearance after that was a few years later in Misaki, Japan, where the story of Tsukihime happened. Misaki itself was overrun with rumors about vampires and serial killers thanks to the very real vampire activity that happened in the area. Sion managed to predict TATARI's next location and called upon Shiki to assist her in fighting him. Wallachia then proceeded to antagonize the unlikely duo by creating manifestations of their own fears, (ie dark sides and defeated enemies). Existing as an entity of pure information, even Shiki with his Mystic Eyes of Death Perception couldn't kill him, until his sometimes-girlfriend Arcueid Brunestud called on the Crimson Moon from a thousand years in the future to abruptly force him back into his original form as the Dead Apostle Zepia Eltnam Oberon. Arcueid could do this since she was a flawed copy of the Crimson Moon, or a flawed copy of the Crimson Moon's form on Earth, or something like that (I said it was confusing!) The Night of Wallachia then ended for real that night. He is being taken from after his death.
Note that even after his death, TATARI still managed to exist without him; which caused a copy of him based on memories to run around in the Melty Blood sequels. This is irrelevant and just an aside.
Personality: Wallachia is homicidally insane. There is no other way to put it. He is cruel and deeply enjoys mocking people with their innermost flaws and fears before tearing them apart in a bloody mess. Of course, massive slaughter is also something he like to do, and he has done it quite well. He's definitely what we would call a 'troll', but also a troll that would also enjoy cutting you up, laughing all the while.
There may be some genuine insanity in Wallachia besides the simple sadism. He exhibits some speech quirks consistent with disorganized schizophrenia, including repeating the same word over and over again until he start shouting it from the top of his lungs, and also complete nonsense sentences made up of almost random words. It is clear he does not have a good grasp on reality, but then he doesn't seem to mind and may even embrace it.
Wallachia also has a tendency to pepper his speech with stage terms such as 'act' and 'role'. He seems to subscribe to Shakespeare's 'all the world's a stage', and so occasionally speaks of the world and what he does in such terms. This may be related to when he has manifested as something else as TATARI; he actually has to be that person or thing, personality wise. In a sense, he basically has to act out a specific part (or to put it another way, play a certain role. Think about it and don't be surprised when he sounds like he's being meta about things).
Despite all of this, Wallachia is intelligent, and knows precisely how to turn a situation to his advantage. He may not hide his exuberant madness, but he can use it in such a way to manipulate or ally with others. Do not underestimate him, or you may find yourself out of blood.
Abilities: Wallachia is a Dead Apostle, a vampire. Vampires in his canon are described as needing blood to continue existing and cannot go out in sunlight. Their physical abilities are said to be those of a human under extreme stress or dedication; for example, a person who can somehow lift up a car to save someone. As such, their strength is above average and can dodge bullets. They also regenerate from wounds. Wallachia can also make his hands into claws
In the fighting games, Wallachia attacks using his cape, which sometimes seems like a living shadow. In fact, what he's doing is attacking with pure information, manifesting itself into a shadowy form that can affect real objects. This lets him make shadow claws in the air, surround himself with it and turn into a rolling buzzsaw, and a tornado that inflicts dozens of cuts. He can also use the information to create shadowy doppelgangers of others that attack their opponents. It is also somewhat implied that he can read the inner fears and insecurities of others; this is not explicit, but seems to happen in the course of the story.
Sample Entry: No, no, no! It is foolish to cast an actor in a role that is not proper for him! I demand to speak to the director and the playwright! The script is clearly flawed and needs revisions! As it is, I refuse refuse refuse refuse!
