My main quibble with this ep is with the angels themselves: I miss the old Blink angels who couldn't look at each other and who were actually scary.
That said, though, as a companion farewell, I'm very pleased. It's irreversible, while still allowing Amy and Rory to live out their full lives together, which was more than I dared hope for. I talked some years back about which Who companions get to have agency in their own fates and which don't, and I was happy to see that Amy did. (Rory not so much, but hey, he'd already jumped off a building once.) I didn't cry, but my eyes did get a little achy.
Also, River as a 30s moll was sheer fanservice to me. When I was in high school, I used to make stylized drawings of a female spy, and I had her looking a lot like that. :-) Plus, there were some pretty nice character moments for her too, particularly towards the end (I loved her and Amy's farewell, and the way she cheered Amy on).
I also spent a lot of time going "WHO IS THAT GANGSTER BOSS, I KNOW I'VE SEEN HIM!" and it wasn't until the end credits that I realized it was Friar Tuck. Which, quite frankly, I should have figured out much sooner, considering that I saw RHPoT about 15 times in my teens.
