Kissing and breathing
So, morthel talked about various femslash clichés, and how one of her pet peeves are people who have to stop kissing to breathe.
My first thought was, "Oops, I've written that." My second thought, following closely behind, was, "Hang on, I've done that! More than once!"
Now, as many of you are aware, I'm not very fond of kissing in the first place. One of the reasons I'm not very fond of it is because whenever a kiss is deep and long, I can't breathe. Which is a pretty unpleasant feeling. So I break off the kiss. Sometimes this works and we can switch between short, light kisses (my preference) and longer kisses (the other person's preference). Sometimes the other person doesn't quite seem to grasp the concept of going light. I have a rather unpleasant memory of making out with a drunken girl who kept at it with longer kisses without giving me more than half a breath between them. (Not blaming her, btw, she didn't notice and I didn't want to ruin things by going, "okay, I have a pretty narrow nasal passage or something, so...")
Anyway. Reason for this post. morthel claims I'm a peculiar person and that "everyone else knows how to breathe through their nose." I'm not so sure about that. :-) I figure, if it's a fanfic cliché, there might be a reason for it. Hence this question: Do you guys find it easy to kiss and breathe at the same time, or does it give you difficulty?
