The fanfic debate rages on, and
Katherine Kerr seems fit to point out that she despises it. Since her name wasn't in the post itself, I read the comments and went, "Deverry, Deverry... where have I heard that? Oh, right, her!"
I read Kerr in high school. I stopped reading her since she was repetitive (people doing the same stupid shit in life after life), showed no sense of humour, and could never finish a damn storyline without starting five others. Soaps are fine in the TV medium, where they're shown regularly and the price is only what you pay for having the TV at all. That's not why I read books. (I know, I know, Birthdayverse, stones in glass houses - but at least I don't charge for that stuff.)
So no worries, Kerr, no temptation!
And googling her, it seems there's no temptation for fic-dom in general; either that or they're really respectful of the author's wishes, because there's no fanfic out there. None. (Okay, so I didn't google very deep, possibly there's a handful out there, but nothing on a quick search, nothing on ff.net, nothing on yuletide.)
In other words, she's making really really clear that she doesn't want things to happen that aren't happening anyway.
