(no subject)
New Inkheart icon. W. at work is teaching me Arabic, and since fire (naar) and heart (qalb) were among the words, I got the idea to make this icon. I fully admit to cheating with Dustfinger's name - it's just the words for "dust" and "finger" and I'm sure it makes no grammatic sense whatsoever. But I wanted to make the icon today and not have to ask her first. (Plus I'm not sure I'd be able to explain the concept of Dustfinger, much less why I wanted it in Arabic writing.)
At first, I meant to find the perfect Dustfinger and Farid pic to use for it, but it turned out there wasn't one - hardly surprising, since their relationship isn't developed that much in the film. (Believe me, if I had the option of using book pictures I would, especially since I'm not pleased with film!Farid, but oh well.) So instead I used different pics for each words plus a pic each for the two characters.
I consider this the words that bring new life, as a contrast to the words that bring death in Adderhead's book of immortality. :-)
And just to remind myself why I love these two so much (and if it had to be said, NO, THIS IS NOT A SLASH PAIRING, NOT REMOTELY), I searched inside Inkspell at amazon.com:
Dustfinger saw the knife go into that thin back. He caught the boy before he fell to the ground, but he was already dead. And there stood Basta with his foot on another dead body, smiling. Why not? He had hit his target, and it was the target he had been aiming for all along: Dustfinger's heart, his stupid heart. Inkheart and death makes me think of the Pylea arc and the fact that Andy Hallett is dead, which makes me very sad. But Alyson and Alexis had a baby, which makes me happy. Talk about Angel-centric emotional whiplash.
Jarl Alfredius is also dead. I can't claim to be a huge Alfredius fan, but it still feels like a pretty big deal; he was the most well-known news anchor in Sweden and even though he had retired it's weird to think of him as dead.

And so I won't end this post on a sad note: I'm trying to determine if Fanny from Robin Hood Prince of Thieves is old enough (i.e. 38+) to be in my vid. What do you guys think?
