things that make me happy
Thing that makes me happy #1: A hamster in a glass.
Thing that makes me happy #2: Nemi being so wonderfully herself.
Thing that makes me happy #3: Feeling like a 14-year-old again.
That needs a bit of explaining. There are certain things that can bring me straight back to the mood I was in when I first experienced it. And, as it turns out, just like Jane Eyre and Dirty Dancing, the video to Take That's Babe still turns me into a little puddle of 14-year-old starry-eyed goo. At that age, I thought those things were the essence of romance. (I should really write about Dirty Dancing at some point. There was an excellent article in Sydsvenskan a while ago, but I feel that there's more to say. But I digress.) When the singer opens his arms to the child, even though I'm twice the age I was and my tastes in everything has changed, I still respond the same way.
Thing that makes me happy #4: Anders Ekborg singing Karl-Bertil Jonsson. Also, Anders Ekborg singing the Swedish version of The Irish Ballad. (This makes me happy even though he doesn't know the difference between skrupulös and skrupellös.) Sorry, anglos on my flist, this is only fun for the Swedes!
