Okay, since I'm already posting, here are the thoughts on Jericho I talked about. They turned out quite bitchy at times, but I did watch the whole show in a week, so it's safe to say I enjoyed it.
(
Cut for some spoilers, length, and possible squee-harshing for the diehard fans. )
Hm. I don't think I see that, personality-wise (their role on the show is the same, obviously). Jack - Eric, yes, that would work for me. (Er, I should mention that I really, really despise Jack. There are other characters on Lost that I don't care much about, and I really prefer the B-cast to the Triangle of Doom, but Jack is the only one I might actually hate. Hasn't happened to me in a long time.)
And to be fair to Jake, he is a lot less "One Man Against Them All" than Jack Bauer, who is way past pathological in that respect - and supported by his narrative, which is a lot worse.
Yeah, they're both really awesome and pretty. And I love AC's freckles.
Yes - so cute!
I first saw him on Judging Amy, then on Psych, so I was more, "It's Timothy with a beard! Please do everything he says!" I suck at separating actor and character sometimes.
Hee. I guess he is better at playing nice guys, as I took to Lassie rather quickly.

Yeah, it's more role-wise. They're both the initially reluctant leaders who quickly take for granted that they are the leaders, to the point that they get pouty when anyone else tries to take charge. They both start out with handy practical solutions, saving people's lives. They both have Daddy Issues and no chemistry with their romantic partners. The difference, of course, being that Jack's personality sucks major ass.
I don't think Eric is much like Jack - he's way too much of a follower. Unless by "like Jack" you mean "whiny bitch".

That sounds awful. Even Jake was a bit too "Rrrrarrr, GUN!" for me sometimes. But then, I've never understood the fascination in American Media for solving problems with firearms.

Well, Elizabeth Mitchell does try valiantly although Juliet would totally do better with Sayid. And if Jericho had stuck with Jake and Heather, who knows...

There is that, too.

It is, although it's not about the guns - 24 is an action show about secret agencies and terrorism, I don't expect them to go for non-violent solutions. The show has rightly been criticized for their portrayal of torture, but my beef with Jack as a character lies more in the way that he sheds all humanity by first losing his family and then friends and co-workers, and the show idolizing that, as he really is the one who is always right and will always Save The Day. Having emotional ties (or emotions in general) is a great weakness on the show and usually leads to betrayal, murder and the Bad Guys Winning.

Yeah, she's better than all of the others so far. Jack comes off as incredibly sexually passive - he just goes for whatever the other person suggests.

Jake/Heather would have been cool. Though I kind of like her with Beck.

Blergh. Not gonna watch that, then.

Not to mention that the way he kisses makes me long for coffee.

Oh, yes, there was some really great chemistry there. It was one of the more bizarre aspects of the show that almost all couples had more chemistry than the "main one" (Bar lady and Eric excepted, but I'd claim that's because whoever plays Eric is a bit lacking in charisma in general).

Vegetable!
No, it's "very evil grin."
