I just felt that the second Elizabeth movie was pretty unnecessary - sequels to "serious" films somehow feel more tacky than sequels to clockbusters. Plus I don't like biopics in general. (Oh, I've enjoyed some of them, but I tend to get this very meh feeling by biopics.) So, prejudice, prejudice. Anyway, she won an Oscar for the Aviator, and I found her Kate Hepburn impression so far below the real thing I had to turn off after five minutes. :-)
I suspect I've missed the In Memoriam, which is the only bit I'm really watching for this year.
I haven't actually read Magic for Marigold or the adult novels. I really like the Emily books though - Emily herself has some ridiculous Mary Sue traits about her, but I love Ilse, Perry, and the relatives.

Yay to Ingmar Bergman and Heath Ledger!
