POLL: Imaginary friends

Thinking about the different ways in which my ficcer/writer identity is a vital part of me, I came to think of my imaginary friends. When I mention to people that I have imaginary friends, even people who are themselves interested in writing, they sometimes look as if I'd grown an extra head, or claimed to still be playing with dolls. (As a sidenote, I did play with dolls long into my teenage years, though I "hid" this activity by making dresses for them, pretending to be interested in the dresses and not at all the various adventures and schemes the dolls had with each other. I maintained this obfuscating technique even if no one was at home except my mom, who definitely wouldn't have berated me for playing with dolls. It was ingrained so deeply in me that Big Girls Don't Play With Dolls. But I digress.)

Anyway. This made me wonder if you guys also have or have had imaginary friends, and if so, what kind of friends they are/were. Hence a poll. It's kind of long, so I've put it under a cut. I'll be immensely grateful to anyone who answers it.
