So, I've seen a meme going around that looks like this:
Italics for the female characters you've written 1-3 times.
Bold the ones you've written 4-9 times.
Italics and bold for the ones you've written 10+ times.
Underline the ones you intend to write, or have in unfinished story form.
Leave alone the ones you don't write/haven't written.
Add up to five any that you have written (if they're not on here).
The problem with this is, I tend to write stories in many, many obscure little fandoms. So the format of that meme doesn't quite fit me. So at first I wasn't going to do the meme at all. But then I got curious to find out just how many female chars I had written, and how many of those were obscure or OCs.
Therefore, while I'm posting the meme, I have fudged with the format a bit. First, I've done exactly what I was told with the chars already on the list. I thus found 28 female characters I had written. I then added all the other canon female characters I have ever written, and I added them in all caps so that anyone who wants to do this meme can easily remove them. That way, I found 42 more characters. Finally, I made an entirely new list of my OFCs, which turned out to be 45. (Not counting chars that were only in a couple of paragraphs or so.)
I know this isn't in the spirit of the meme, but considering that only 25% of my female characters were on the list, can you blame me? *g*
Oh, and the only character to be written at least ten times was Alonna Gunn - I counted the Birthdayverse as separate stories, which brought her count up quite a bit. Go Alonna!
