are there any nice children here?

God Jul! Or Merry Christmas if you prefer. :-) For me, the whole thing is pretty much over - celebration was yesterday, as is customary in Sweden.

Brother's kid was there, which really enhanced the evening. Christmas needs kids. And cookies in front of Donald Duck is vastly enhanced by having someone around who's never seen the thing. For the first half hour, he was so mesmerized he forgot to eat. Then he kind of needed to "play it off" and disappeared to another room. (The last thing he saw to the end was Ferdinand, and his imitation of the matador was hilarious. *g*)

Pretty much the same thing happened during present time. Other people getting presents = boring. Him getting presents = fun at first, but four times are quite enough. (They saved the fifth present for another day.)

I gave him some plastic animals, which he loved, but he promptly tucked one of them away somewhere he couldn't find it, and when they were leaving he walked around the room calling, "Dolphin! Hello? Hello?"

Add to that, this kid, who according to his parents hardly ever sings (he loves listening, and may fill in a word, but that's about it for the most part), stood by the piano going, "Alla söva, lätta älo lusen, älo lusen, pitt patt pitt pitt patt..." over and over again. I have a feeling he just needs to learn some more songs, and he'll be singing all the time. :-)

Okay, okay, I'll stop talking about the little tot, I promise.

Yuletide is up, much yay! I really got worried at first, because the story written for me said "10 Things I Hate About You", and while I do like that film, I didn't wish for it and wouldn't wish for it. But as it turns out, that was just a mistake on the author's part.

The story is actually Jake 2.0 disasterfic, with a lovely Diane and a potentially tragic ending. Everyday Feels Like Sunday. Very, very nice, if you like that sort of thing, which I do. (I described the fic to jadelennox and her reaction was "gah!", but then, jadelennox is most certainly not me. And only my opinion counts! Yay!)

So Secret Santa, if you're reading this, thank you so much! *blows kisses*

I haven't had time to read much else in the archive yet, but I'll let you know when I have. As for my own storie, I found an irritating semi-error in the pinch hit but am hoping that won't be enough to prevent the recipient from liking it. Plenty of time to find out, I guess.
