Watched more Anders & Måns yesterday, on my TV this time. I really don't watch much TV, considering the number of TV shows I watch.
Laughed myself silly at Måns' improvements of the human body ("I don't want to say I'm smarter than God, but...") especially his view on periods: "'Let's flush out the egg with blood! We don't have any use for blood anyway.' It's like flushing out bogeys with brain substance."
When they went to see a Eurythmy teacher, a thought struck me. On TV, in fics and so forth, I've seen mute chars communicate through notes, signs, PDAs, art and music, but not yet Eurythmy. Wouldn't that be simply awesome? *giggles* Okay, so in Petter Lidbeck's book Anna Larssons dagbok God sends a message (with rap lyrics, no less) through dancing, but since that's just in Anna's imagination it doesn't quite count.
Want some Eurythmy communications, dammit. It'd be funnier than Wuthering Heights in semaphore.

While on the subject of mute chars, I've considered making a list of disability fics and my opinions of them. It wouldn't quite be a recs site, since I'd put in negative opinions as well, though perhaps not mentions of fics I actually hated. I'm not sure what it would be. Just a way to remember what I've read in that genre and what it was like, I guess.
Am a bit hesitant, though. For one thing, I don't know if I'd be doing it for anyone but myself. For another, people might have their feelings hurt if I say something not too nice. I mean, my vidrecs site is pretty much just made for me, but I mostly say nice things there. OTOH, if it would work as a guide for others than me as well, hurt feelings might be a price worth paying for consumer guidance. :-) Of course, it'd all be my opinions anyway, and judging by the majority of fics like that I read, quality is... kind of subjective, yeah.

And while on the subject (well, kind of) of Petter Lidbeck, I want to rec his books to Swedish readers. I've read a couple before, and today I read "Det mystiska huset". Think Enid Blyton with wit, intelligence and realism. Three girls getting into trouble when they start investigating some suspicious people, and one of them is one of those acidic little smartasses that are so great to read about and so difficult to handle in real life. Loooooving it.

And while on the subject (yeah, I just love doing this) of Swedish detective novels, I realized that master detective Kalle Blomkvist (Bill Bergson to you who read Astrid Lindgren in English) had
Harry Potter glasses a year before Harry Potter was written. And Rupert Grint with his hair long looks a bit like the guy who plays Anders. Clearly owlish round glasses seemed like a good idea to give young boys in the mid-nineties. (But not in the fifties, when Lindgren wrote her books.) And the world creates patterns to make sure that owlish four-eyed boys have the proper companions.

Not on the subject of anything at all, but I just saw the latest SPN ep. Not gonna comment on the ep right now (except to say I liked it), but concerning the show in general, John's way with his children sometimes reminds me a little bit of the mother in Crimes of the Heart who hanged the cat so she wouldn't have to die alone.
