He is incredibly resilient compared to, say, hamsters. If he were a hamster, he'd be dead three or four times over by now.
He is very low maintenance. All you have to do is feed him twice a day and empty the litter box from time to time. No long walks on stormy days.
He doesn't mind being left alone from time to time.
There's hardly anything sweeter than having a big cat lying purring under your sweater, with his head resting on your chest.
He has his priorities straight. I am not to empty the dishwashing machine. I am to sit still in a comfy chair with him on my lap and listen to music.
He chooses his friends carefully, which makes me feel special.
He likes shrimp. I like shrimp. I have the perfect excuse for eating shrimp as much as I want.
He has a fine-tuned sense of irony, which is proven by the fact that he's called Spike and keeps getting fatter and fatter.
He may not come when I call, but if I'm standing next to him when I say his name, he kisses me.
I'll always know if there's a pidgeon crapping on the balcony from his "yap yap yap".
A cat lying on his back and licking his tail is incredibly cute, no matter how big he is.
He's smart enough to know that an animal or person disappearing from one window can be seen from a window in another room, yet he's too dumb to realize that mummy and daddy are *not* in the bedroom when they've been away for two days.
