I tried to cheer up a friend during paper-writing times by sending her some fun LotR links, including the Bakshi version pics that monkeycrackmary posted in her LJ once upon a time. She muchly enjoyed it, particularly Boromir's death scene ("with NO PANTS") and we discussed it after class.
My friend said, "I remembered Frodo being ugly, but the others were so much worse. Sam really *did* hurt to look at." "I *know*," I said. At this point, one of the guys walked by and gave us a rather weird look. So she explained, "We're talking about the old animated Lord of the Rings."
"Oh," he said, weirded out no more. "Yeah, that one sucked."
*grin* As if we'd ever say something that mean about Sean Astin.
