Angel moomin characters

Nov 23, 2003 17:35

I just wrote something out of order, which is highly unusual for me. It's because I had a weird dream this morning about Angel, and when I woke up I realised it would work just fine in the Birthdayverse. So now I've written a scene that might be the last in this story, or else it will be the first in the next. In either case it'll come after the Faith rundown, which I haven't written yet.

And no, I'm not going to show you. But if someone really really wants a peek, drop me a note.

Anyway. Speaking of Angel, I was trying to figure out who different characters would be if they lived in the Moominvalley, and this was what I came up with:

Angel is definitely Misabel. Brooding and melodramatic, with a flair of being in the spotlight.

Wesley is the Filijonk who believed in disasters, what with his strong sense of duty and how he's at his best when things are bad. But I admit that he also has certain Hemulen traits about him, especially the love of categorising things.

Gunn is a Whomper: very sensible and practical, fond of making things work right. (Even the fantasizing next-to-youngest Whomper was rather practical-minded.) What with his new brainyness, Gunn could also be argued to be the Snork, who is also sensible but more mathematical than a Whomper.

Cordelia was the cheeky and fearless My, but somehow ended up more like the Moomin Mamma who always brings lemonade and makes sure everyone is all right.

Fred is the Muddler, who collects things, but in a rather more haphazard way than a Hemulen would, and who is also on the small and shy side.

Lorne is king Daddy Jones, who knows the value of good entertainment.

Connor is the Moomin troll - a romantic at heart who sulks when things don't turn out his way.

Doyle was Snufkin, or possibly his father the Joxer (they're so similar). He liked old clothes and a good smoke, and didn't want to do things that might prove a hassle.

Lilah is Emma. She sounds like a cynic, but she's capable of some serious passion.

Lindsey is Sniff, with a great love of money and a tendency to throw childish tantrums.

Spike is the ghost who really wants to be scary.

Phantom Dennis (who you'd *think* would be the ghost) is actually the helpful little invisible mice who live in the boat house.

The Oracles were Thingummy and Bob - there's always two of them, and they're really hard to understand.

and with my Birthday characterisation in mind:

Alonna is the sensible and down-to-earth Tooticki.

Anne is Ninni, the child who went invisible out of sheer unhappiness, but in better circumstances turned out to be "worse than little My".

If I've forgotten someone (or am obviously wrong) let me know...

angel, moomin
