Just came back from Spirited Away. What a movie. Great plot, great animation, great heroine - and a spectacular eye for detail. I particularly liked the soot animals' attempt to get out of work.
mudskipper, I take back everything I said. I shall now on judge every piece of anime on its merits and only dislike that sugary fan art I keep seeing.
Speaking of which, the Howl pics (except for the castle, from what I can tell) turned out to be fan art too. So after finding out that and seeing this film, I have great hopes.
Speaking of cartoon characters,
this Bamse slash story is a must-read. For those of your who haven't read Bamse (darn foreigners), the inside info you need is brief: Bamse is the strongest bear in the world, but only when he has been drinking the Dunder honey his grandmother makes. His best friends are the wise turtle Skalman and the nervous little bunny Lille Skutt. There. You know the story. Go read. There's a link at the end of the story if you want to know more.
A woman speaking in my class showed us
this joke. It's kind of funny, so if you're in a laughing mood (or want to be) go read that too.
And a comment on Schwartzenegger from... well, wherever, I've seen it in plenty of places: "Finally , a candidate who can explain the Bush administration's positions
on civil liberties in the original German ."
Unfair and mean, I know. Particularly to Arnold. But I giggled anyway.
