weekend/week's good stuff
This weekend we spent in Corpus Christi with Z's family. The munchkin was picked up early and i took her to play at the park with my cousin's kids. Then met up with Z's sister and they took Munchkin down to corpus. We joined her down there the next morning. Went down to the beach and collected sea shells. Played games with the kids. Played games with the adults. Went shopping with z's mom and sister. It was kewl. I actually feel like for the first time I am a part of my s/o's family. That's a great feeling.
Today I took Z's dad's advise and went down to the workers comp commission. I am happy to say, I fired my attorney. I spoke with the Ombusdman at the commissions office. They are going to represent me for free. Z's dad told me about the ombusman some time ago but I was too afraid to take action and mess everything up. But I took a chance today and my attorney was fired instantly and i case worker already set up to take over helping me with my case. I was sooo pleased. As soon as I left the office I called Z's dad and thanked him and shared me good news. He was happy as well. So, the only thing I owe my lawyer is fee's that have acrued up until now. YAY. Sooo. hopefully, (Crossing fingers) everything will go well with the mediation meeting I have on Dec. 5th. If it does, i'll be able to set a date for the first surgery AND start getting paid the back owed and current money owed to me. We will be able to get all cought up on bills and start saving once again. That Will be WONDERFUL. I'm trying not to get my hopes up too awefully high but I'm very hopeful. While in there I was talking with someone that was going throught the same thing as I. She did have her surgery but because of how long the lawyer took (total of a yr and a half) she now has permanent nerve dmg on one of her hands. *sigh* that's what i'm worried about... So.. anyways.. that's my good news.
Thanksgiving we will be at my family this yr and then christmas spent in Corpus with Munchkin. We do get to see munchkin on friday a little bit. It's awesome that her mother is being so kewl about everything. Z and I wish that we could get her to talk to me more and be able to work things out but perhaps one day we can. I think it would be great for the munchkins sake. Time will tell.
