My buddy and I both got new cars and he's raggin' me about how he can drive circles around me because his car is so fast. "Prove it, dude, let's drag race." So we're waiting for the light to turn green. He's in first gear, revving the engine, raring to pop the clutch and make me eat his dust. I have a built in clutch so I'm in L), lunge with my ( Read more... )

I think this is a monologue. :) Problem with LJ is that there is no studio audience!

But what do the bold letters mean? WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

It's a play on words, or rather, letters. Think of how your Civic transmission is labelled.

Sorry, working too hard, then sleeping too much and haven't checked email, lj, or much of anything. I thought you all could use a good laugh. Whoops, my bad.

It's an old joke revolving around vehicle transmissions - three on the tree, four on the floor, and that newfangled thing called the automatic!
The automatic transmission has a built-in clutch but has Park, Reverse, Neutral, Drive, Low labeled P, R, N, D, L that you shift into to drive (or stop, in the case of park and neutral)
What would happen to your car if you shifted from Drive (Drag) to Reverse (Race) when you're flying down the highway at 55 mph? And no, I definitely don't recommend trying it at home! :D

This reminds me of an email my dad sent me. I was so confused by it that I showed it to Zeb and asked him to translate. He said, "That last sentence is a very good summary of the whole email." I had no idea what the last sentence meant. I feel dumb. :P

Was Love, Dad the last sentence or don't signatures count? :D

If it was a joke type email like my mom sends me, you just shrug, shake your head, or laugh anyway and delete it whether you "get it" or not. I don't always understand them either.

Does the closing and signature count as a sentence? LOL. He signed it just like that, too. How did you know?? It was a serious email about the procedures for estate settlement.

I doubt it, I just threw it in to be funny! haha
I think he commented in one of your LJ entries that way.
Sounds like Zeb understood it so all is well.
