Just a bit of random babble

And because it's all over the place, I'm organizing it by neat little cuts!

I know that it hasn't yet debuted in North America officially, but
apollymi and I just finished watching Series 2 of Sherlock this evening. Yes, I shed what were definitely not manly tears (partially because I'm a woman, but mostly because I'm a wuss), but I'm reassured that there will indeed be a Series 3 debuting in 2013...

...and that the producers want to tackle some things that normally aren't included in adaptations of Doyle's works, including John's marriage.

Fuck yes, Mary Watson in 2013, I so very much hope.

On other things, I've managed to tap out two of my four Gen in January prompts, so I'm feeling a bit accomplished there. I just have the WK prompt and the X-Men one to hit, and I'll have January fic 'obligations' fulfilled.

Randomly, I rather enjoy not writing for just one fandom at the moment (even if I am writing a lot of Marvel movieverse stories). I actually got an FF.net review from someone who was convinced I'd stopped writing TF fic altogether since it's not the only thing I'm working on anymore. And... well, I feel like I've gone from wanting to write "shipping" stuff to wanting to work on world-building and gen fics there. That's part of why I'm liking any work I do on The Right of All and hope to get back to my crack-fic roots and finish up a project I started back in 2009 but didn't pursue because... well, I was a ship-writer back at that point, and avoided gen like it would eat me?

At any rate, I'm still very much having fun with delving into new fandoms (I'm sure y'all have noticed that until November, I didn't have any Inception fic under my belt, nor anything for LXG until December) and playing around in fandoms that I've written in the past (two new YGO stories, set in a 'verse created by my Yami, and shortly to be diving back into WK for at least one story). I'd forgotten how almost liberating it can be to just put aside a fic in one fandom that's giving you issues and writing something else in another fandom for a little while....

On my final random ramble for this entry (and wow, I actually used three cut tags for this. I must be either too organized or very crazy), I've come to the conclusion, after doing the 21 day vegan jump start thing with Yami, that I feel much better on the days when I don't have any sort of meat for a meal. The most of any kind of meat I've had since we started on the program was about a week in - I think we'd ordered from Genghis Grill, and I had pork - and I felt oddly... icky and bloated for the entire night.

However, in a directly opposite move to what I generally do when Yami's out of town, I didn't make one stop at any of my usual "feed myself" haunts. Normally I hit McDonald's and get a value meal (hello, grease!), but... given my Genghis Grill experience plus the fact that I've made a resolution to go vegetarian this year, I skipped the burger palaces altogether. Instead, I dined on Saturday at One Fresh Stir Fry on a dish containing quinoa, tofu, eggs (I'm sort of leaning ova-lacto at this point), peppers, mushrooms, assorted other yummy veggies, and coconut curry for the sauce. This was followed up on Sunday lunch spent at Boston Market dining on a side item meal consisting of mashed sweet potato, corn, and creamed spinach.

True, we were both a bit naughty on Sunday evening and hit Red Elephant for dinner, but I had a salad (hold the bacon) and hummus dip that was to die for, and I've felt pretty goddamn good all weekend for not having the usual eats.

So, yeah. Katsuko is going vegetarian. I'm starting slowly, with cutting out the meat completely, and maybe eventually I'll go full-vegan like Yami has decided to in light of the kick-start diet. For now, though, I'll be vegan-at-home and vegetarian-away-from-home.

And if you managed to go through all those cut tags, you must be nearly as crazy as I am.
