They think I'm joking XD
So, it's the day of the fools, one of my least favorite "holidays" of the year. DeviantArt always does something utterly retarded "special" for the day, as does near about every site on the internet. Some people also pull real life pranks as well, and more than a couple in my office do.
I'm just doing my normal thing, really. Updated the faculty application spreadsheet and sent it out to the committee. Checked my email and responded accordingly. Realized - whoops! - that the new Grant Compliance Analyst starts work today and that there's a new faculty member coming in the next month, so made their mailbox labels. At that point, I realized I needed to shift all the boxes around to keep them alphabetical, and figured while I was at it I would go ahead and put it back into the original order (Department Chair, Support Staff, Biomed Faculty).
So, after reorganizing the boxes, I realized that nobody would know what the hell was going on, so I sent out an email saying (1) because we have new people the boxes have been reorganized, make sure you're checking your actual box and not where it used to be and (2) welcome to our newbie Kerry.
...thus far five faculty members have come to check their boxes on their weekly mail check and worn looks of utter and complete confusion.
Either no one around here reads their email or they think I'm playing an epic April Fool's Day prank. They'll know better come Monday and I don't re-swap the mailboxes.
