Car dead.
Ladies and gentlemen, today is the day I almost died.
Yes. True. Freaky, but true. Here's the story.
I was driving home with my dad after I had my intake gesprek at the TIO in Amsterdam. Where, by the way, I am happy to tell you all, shall be going to school when my part of the program begins.
Anyway. We where going home, closing in on a traffic light, when suddenly it turned orange. At first, my dad wanted to keep driving, maybe we'd make it, but then he figured, no, there could be a flitspaal, and then he'd be fined for speeding. We wouldn't want that to happen, so, he hits the brakes. We come to a stop, I hear shrieking tires behind us, turn around in my seat to look back, and the next thing I see [and feel] is a minivan crashing into us. Yes. Our car has officially past away now.
It crashed into us with about 50 km an hour. That's fast. We got bumped up for about 5 metes and then we stopped. My dad and I are, luckily, both fine. I am, however,unable to go to work tomorrow, my neck and back feel like hell. Dad´s also pretty beat up in that department, so he might be taking a day off as well. We got out of the car to find out that the back end of out car was gone. It had pretty much harmonica'ed itself into the rest. Glass everywhere, the other van was leaking fluids pretty bad.
We called the police, and the minute I said the words 'neck ache' there was an ambulance standing next to us. Like wow dude, I'm fine, just a little muscle ache. But nooooo, they did full testing and pupil dilation and the whole shebang. Minor concussion, I sais.
Then, the car had to be towed away and we had to take a cab to Katwijk to get a replacement car until we got ours back. It's miniature. A Citroen C1. Like omg cute, but... We = four people.
Anyhow, after that, we got home and I got my hair dyed black again. And all in all, the whole thing took.... 6 hours. So, between being hit by a car, freezing to death, starving, and having the worlds smallest car, I feel great ^^ XD
For real. I'm happy nothing worse happened. We're all alive and the insurance company pays for all of the damage. And the 95 euro cab drive from Amsterdam to Lisse. XD good for them.
