Teh Kat Lives!!

Since I've pretty much lost track of who and how many times I've told someone I'd post here, I figured it's about time I actually did so, lol.

As it's been awhile since my last post (and btw, whoever stole the past two months out from under me, GIVE THEM BACK PLEASE?!!), I won't bore you with a lot of details, but suffice to say, it's been busy! So let's start at the top and go down the list, shall we?

Kids & Kidlets:

We're now pretty much dead center between The Girls, location-wise. One half hour north of here and the other half-hour south. The Boy is in NYC and working as a line cook under the direction of a certified chef. He says he's learning lots and figures that with a year or so of experience in NY, he can move back here and find work fairly easily. Let's hope he's right, lol! The Girl #1 is currently job hunting and the proud owner of a 2-month-old kitten. (Better her than me, I say, lol) The Girl #2 is still doing home health care, but not very happy with management for reasons I won't get into here and would like to move on if/when the opportunity arises.

The Kidlets are a hoot, as always. Kidlet #1 will be here for a sleepover this weekend, so that will be a riot. Kidlet #2 has been with her dad most weekends so we've not seen much of her lately. Got a text message from her mother a few days back saying that said Kidlet was looking over the items that The Girl #2 had bought from the grocery store and promptly informed her mother that she had bought "the organtic kind of graham crackers." LOL! Kidlet #1 will be having a birthday in two weeks, so I will need to do some shopping very soon. Kidlet #2 will be 5 weeks behind, so am going to attempt to kill two birds and get both presents in the same trip, lol. (Did I mention how much I detest shopping, for the most part??)

Teh Kat & Mr. Teh Kat:

July was a rough month for Teh Kat. Asthma decided to flare up out of control (and was not even hot or humid!!!! Wth(eck)???) Ended up in Dr.'s office to get a breathing treatment and a whole slew of meds, so spent two weeks or better with a major case of the jitters, which I SO hate! I found out that this problem lessened considerably with the absence of caffeine. So I pretty much killed my caffeine intake (*sobs*) as much as possible, which I also hate but at least I can breathe again. I now own my very own nebulizer and have way too many daily meds for my liking but am being good and taking them all as directed (okay, so I may have forgotten the one I really, really hate (Advair) a time or two...*whistles innocently*). Mr. Teh Kat has been awesome as always and very understanding and supportive when Teh Kat was not feeling up to cooking his dinner and did not complain about all that take-out for the better part of two weeks. *smishes him*

August has so far been a month of bombshells for us, lol. Things at work for Mr. Teh Kat have been very tense, as Boss Man's daughter is now owner of company after Boss Man's passing (from lung cancer; yes, he was a long-time smoker). Several people have been fired/let go, since the 1st of the month and they have just been informed that they will be doing a complete inventory of all stock by the end of the month, as law requires it so estate can be settled. So it seems things will be interesting on that front for some time yet.

The other big bombshell was that the resident manager of our apartment complex is stepping down as of the end of next month. While this was not so much of a shock (she's in her 80's and hasn't been in very good health for some time now), it was rather a shock to get a call from the management company. Well actually, they left a voicemail marked 'urgent' which was rather unsettling, lol. So when I called back they told me about the impending retirement and I'm thinking, okay, but why does this news warrant an 'urgent' voice mail??? We-e-e-e-e-ell...because they have decided that Mr. Teh Kat and I are their choice for a replacement. We are "the only people there with any intelligence" who could handle it. My first reaction was "Oh heck NO!" but I told them we'd need a few days to think it over and discuss it. It would mean free rent and a commission based on occupancy and that would be some very welcome security should Mr. Teh Kat lose his job, too. (not overly likely as they'd have a much more difficult time firing him since he's union, but still...). So we've spent a good deal of time this weekend weighing pros and cons and have pretty much decided...that we want more information and an exact description of the duties involved before making a final decision. *le sigh*

So there you have it. And look, Nutty--I even made it before the weekend was over! :D (Yes, I know it's Monday already in your part of the world, but here it's still Sunday, so I'm counting it! LOLOLOL) Hope everyone out there is doing well and has a wonderful week! :)
