So um holy shit? I kind of thought this would happen; I mean like, such a popular character as Itachi is, they wouldn't leave his story to be some mundane, "Oh well I decided to kill my clan", nooo, they have to have it full of INTRIGUE and POLITICS and BETRAYAL and all that glitter'd shiz. And I mean. Sasuke's not evil, he's killed Itachi. I'm really hoping you know that and I didn't spoil it for you. But I'm guessing, since you clicked on spoilers, you'll be open to them :] So he's killed Itachi and Tobi/Madara's got him all tied up and stuff, and he's explaining the whole Konoha history crap. And what he says (you can't really take him as an unbiased party, but eh) is that Itachi was under orders from Konoha's government to eradicate the Uchiha clan, because they were planning a coup d'etat against the leaders, and take the village for their own.
So naturally Sasuke's going to be devestated, if they ever explore how he feels on this, I'm going to cry. Someone needs to write a good fanfic on it; I know I'm going to try, but I want to read something tear-out-your-heart-and-bawl worthy. BUT HE'S GOING TO ACTUALLY LOSE HIS MIND. 'cause I mean come on, the guy's been practically in love with his older brother for the first half his life, devoting his life to killing him in the second, wtf is he going to do now? As far as he's concerned, he doesn't have any reason to live anymore because his life's goal has been fulfilled. And now that he knows that Itachi was being used by Konoha, and that Konoha was responsible for destroying his clan, and also dooming his idolized older brother to this 'fate' thing, he's going to flip a shit against Konoha. In a manner of speaking.
SO BASICALLY I'M THINKING HE'S GOING TO TRY TO KILL THE HOKAGE AND NARUTO WANTS TO BE HOKAGE AND HE'S IN LOVE WITH THE VILLAGE SO HE'S NOT GOING TO LET SASUKE SCREW UP THE VILLAGE. So they might have to become mortal enemies, or something to that effect. D:

... honestly, I never thought Sasuke would get to kill Itachi. And I knew Sasuke was ruined forever when he WILLINGLY went off with Orochimaru. Yeah, that says it all.
Itachi has to come back. Miraculously. And be all badass and evil and cryptic. He's no good as a martyr.
