Now
this is gorgeous
I need a crankset for bike number 3. It's within my budget. It's carbon < swoons >. It's Bianchi < just dies > - 53/39 rings would be fine, as would the 172.5 crank arms.
But there's a nagging thought. Frankly, this little pup would be the thick end of 200 pounds in a shop (and the Devil would take up snowboarding before I paid that.) Yet I'd be riding a bike and looking like I paid that. I just have an inbuilt contempt for people who take up an activity and throw money at it rather than time and effort, you know the sort - a thousand pound tennis racket and they can barely hit the ball over the net. The contempt is such I'm afraid of looking like one - this is kit for hard-core road racers and time trialers - the sort who ride a century in 4 hours. It's simply not justified for me, even if it's cheap.
Plus there's the possibility of attracting the wring sort of attention, though the bike thieving, drug addled, morons round here aren't going to know Bianchi from a (long overdue) hole in the head.
Anyway, there's no point in discussing it, there'll be the usual eBay, last minute price explosion that'll take it up to about 80% the cost of a new one, I'll leave that to a bigger idiot than I.
