I couldn't see it last night sadly, but I was able to watch it on the CW website this morning!
So I'd say I enjoyed the premiere. Not too much to say about it right now though, but I do have some thoughts I want to get out.
The only thing I was spoiled for was that Dean was going to do something to save Sam and keep it a secret--meaning that Sam was in trouble and Sam wouldn't like Dean's solution.
I liked getting into Sam's head again. And I loved the Sam and Dean moments. Even when "Dean" was a representation of how Sam saw him. It was interesting to see those implications.
I know to keep a show going there must be conflict, but I hate these secrets that come up between Sam and Dean again and again...I feel so bad for them when they make bad decisions.
I thought that Dean might offer an alternate solution to save Sam--that Ezekiel possess DEAN. I thought that might happen for a moment, and it would be a great storyline to follow. It would still be a secret, but Dean wouldn't be taking away Sam's agency and there wouldn't be these consent issues. And I thought it would be a unique direction to take.
Sam will definitely feel betrayed/violated when he finds out what happened, no matter the circumstances. I just hope Ezekiel doesn't turn out to be dark in the end...
Castiel I'm not as interested in. I'm wondering why he didn't mention it was Metatron who made the angels fall and not him to Hale/Hael(?). I guess he blames himself for being tricked.
I did like him leaving the clothes behind--it will be fun to see him in different outfits, and I hope that the other outfit never comes back just to get rid of the unrealistic never-changing-suit/coat-no-matter-what-happens.
