Sakura
The cherry blossoms bloomed while Darriel was here so he got to see Japan in it's flowery glory. The pretty flowers come in several shades of pink and even a shade of white. Usually the light pink come out first, then the whites, then the later pink ones. At this point Minobu is a full 2 weeks ahead of the bloom time from last year so I've been wondering if we'll even have any left for the Opening Ceremony on Thursday.
Now cherry blossoms, or sakura, are rather pretty, but despite all this, the majority of them are still pink and by the end of week 2 I'm sick of seeing so much bloody pink all over. The mountains look like someone let loose a failing overly feminine interior decorator who went nuts. Pink splotches all over greenish mountains. It's been windy for the past few days so hopefully this means the blossoms will fall quickly. Even the fact that this will probably be my last time seeing cherry blossoms in Japan for some time doesn't sooth the growl in the back of my brain because I hate all the pink. I don't even know why I hate pink anymore.
Anyway, had fun while Darriel was here. Dragged him all over, he got to meet tons of people and take a million and one pictures with his cool new camera. He also got me back in contact with Alan so for at least one day our childhood 3 musketeers was reunited via IM. Alan's somewhere in the Philippines, lucky guy, and I can't even remember the last time I saw him. High school? Freshman college? No idea...

Of COURSE Tina would be my first mate. Duh! Now the real question is whether either of us would be able to give orders adequate enough to get the boat away from the dock...hence our very low income.
I find the idea of lilannan as the cabin boy with a heart of gold amusing. Heart of gold and mischief more like it...and she wouldn't be the only one. Tell me, do they make decks big enough to gallop horses on? If Alexander can convince his nutty chicken stallion to sail with him, surely I can train a few equines to get used to it.
Mysterious Lindsey and a ferocious Lee...that's an amusing thought.
How is mum both a drunken comical pirate AND the naval officer pursuing my ship? Norrington anyone? Good god, my mother is Norrington. That's a funny thought. I'd rather she was the funny drunkard than the naval officer, but neither really fits.
Nicole gets to hang out with Davy Jones? Damn I'm so jealous. That dude's got an ORGAN on his ship! Can you imagine how fun it would be to be sailing and singing Phantom of the Opera with your own organ?!
