Ok so it's the end of November, almost December right? Yet the weather here in Nanbu is WACKED! It began to get cold...then got sort of warm again (low 60's)...and now it's warmish in the morning and gets colder as the day progresses. Does that make ANY sense?! Today it's even warmer...it's November 29th for goodness sake! I shouldn't complain, but I don't want a really nasty cold snap to hit and make everyone sick.
I found if I sleep with the air con heater on, I am less likely to catch one of those pesky colds...so my electric bill will be higher, but I'll be healthy!
Nothing exciting happening this weekend. I'm going to get all my elementary stuff squared away, watch some movies, and make the name cards for the Winter Party. They should be really pretty and just winter themed so hopefully no one complains about the Party being too Christmasy!
Rick, Marissa, Krystal, Crystal (isn't that confusing?), Jon S, and I are all doing the Christmas Carol Singing for the Charity Christmas Party at the International Center. Considering we all live on opposite ends of Yamanashi, it's been a trip and a half trying to coordinate WHERE and WHEN to practice. Not to mention it took me 3 days to find a choral arrangement of Carol of the Bells (so pretty how could I resist?). Looks like some of us can show up tomorrow at Crystal's school.
The kids have their finals tomorrow and Friday. We tried to help the 2nd years study by giving them huge hints...they were a little dense. I believe the entire class was like "Oh..this is on the test?" I so wanted to say "No...we thought we'd teach you random, useless English you won't need. DUH it's on the test!" On the upside, the Special Ed class went really well today and after the tests we'll be doing some Christmas arts and crafts. It's hard to get them to focus, but if they have something hands on they will probably pay more attention. Paper Christmas trees and Christmas cards anyone?
Looks like I got half a suitcase full of stuff to bring back...presents for every, yeah! I found some funny shit at the 100 yen shop (dollar store of Japan) and will be bringing back many instant noodles for people. Not to mention the growing list of things mumsie dearest wants. Do you know she wants a huge thing of miso paste? I just hope I can get it through customs...
20 DAYS TILL I FLY TO VIRGINIA!! Oh Happy Day!
