CRANK ALERT! Let me tell you how we do things in the land of adults...

Yes, just because you blog for free and you have umpteen children hanging on your various appendages AND a full-time job AND a husband/partner/donkey who doesn't appreciate a blasted thing you do...get this:  it does NOT excuse you getting details wrong and publishing them.

I know, take a breath, that's a huge thing.

And it won't stop me from correcting you.  Not because I'm a dick, not because I have all this time on my hands, but I belong to the lost art of the editor.  The proofreader.  The fact-checker.  You've taken all this time that you supposedly don't have to create something that you're purporting to be somewhat important to you.  Great!  Now don't you want your words to be... I dunno... accurate?

If you like your fanfic grammatically correct and you'll call out and mock whoever doesn't live up to your own standards, think that there might be some of us out here who like you to call characters by their correct names when you're reviewing a show, for instance, or remember what happened in Season 2 'cause Season 5 is kinda rehashing it and you're not telling me anything the show's writers didn't say three years ago, you perfect little snowflake you.  Let's follow the protocol the show's writers have set before us, hmm?  It's just, you know, continuity.  Respect.  A little thing called GOOD MANNERS.

Do it right.  Or why even do it?
