Isn't that ironic
For some reason, the television ads for Hellboy II: The Golden Army worked brilliantly on me. It made me want to see it even though I' m not huge comic book fan and I had never seen the first movie. In fact, I can't really recall wanting to see the first movie at all. Maybe all the references to Guillermo del Toro and Pan's Labyrinth which was an excellent movie.
To get prepped for Hellboy II, I watched the first Hellboy movie on DVD. My though: "Meh." It wasn't what I expected and a bit disappointing. It seemed kind of small scale to believe they were saving the world. That could have been a small budget, I don't know the details. However now I am less interested in seeing Hellboy II.
