Criminal or Neighbor?
When I got home tonight, I saw a guy who seemed kind of suspicious, and I wasn't sure if he was trying to break into cars or if he was just a neighbor since it was so dark. Basically, the guy looked like he was ambling along in the road and when I saw his silhouette, I just remember thinking at first that he was too close to the middle of the street, potentially blocking my entry into my driveway, and that he should be closer to the cars or on the sidewalk. Then I thought I saw him try a door handle for the car parked next to my driveway. But I wasn't sure if that was a check the door handle right after I lock it move, but in the back of my mind it looked kind of like he was walking along and tried the door. Since it was dark where he was at (and my night vision is meh), I couldn't say for sure where he was standing though when I first saw him, if he was by the car all along or if he was further back and really did just walk up to it and try the handle. Then he started walking to the car behind it, and that's when I got close and my headlights shone on him. We both looked right at each other, and he just smiled and did this high wave. And then I thought to myself, is that a friendly greeting or an I acknowledge that we have seen each other so I shall leave the vicinity now greeting? So anyway, then I sat in the car for a minute or two after I parked and tried to see where he went but he just disappeared. So either he ran off or he's a neighbor who went into his house. I didn't really recognize him though, but I don't know many of my neighbors. This guy was youngish looking with a striped beanie on his head. Hrm...
