Words: 967
Universe: canon Alphabetia, a takeout during chapter 36 (Chris and Cyrus' wedding)
Warnings: none

Okay, so, I haven't been terribly productive with this Myshuno thing, real life has been taking a lot of energy, so I've been distracted by Civ V mostly on my free time. If I don't step up with the writing, making a Myshuno on time will be hard... Well, we'll see. Here's the first one anyway, it's one of the old prompts from 2012.

"I can give her something if needed, but I'd rather not", said Bailey, "with the baby and all."

Carl nodded. "I understand. I'll see if a bit of peace and quiet would help. She's been scared by a lot less."

"Good", said Bailey. "Some peace and quiet will most often do the trick. And most sims would be scared by a lot less then Salahuddin Chamcha showing up at a family reunion and trying to kill their friends and relatives", he added drily. "If you can handle it for a bit, I think I should go check up on Cho again. She seemed to have just fainted, but she might not do as I told her and take it easy."

Despite being shocked himself, Carl couldn't help but smile a bit. "I bet not. You do that, I think we can manage."

He stepped into Chris and Cyrus' kitchen, which was almost empty. Veronica was sitting on one of the dining chairs, and Audrey had pulled up another chair, to be able to put her arm on Veronica's shoulders. Veronica was sobbing, and trembling slightly.

"He... he was... r-r-right there. H-he co-could h-have... k-ki-killed... killed all of us."

"But he didn't", said Audrey gently but firmly, as Carl took a third chair and sat down on Veronica's other side. "Everyone's fine."

"That's true honey", said Carl and wrapped an arm around Veronica's waist. "I just talked to Bailey, and everything's under control."

"C-Cho... s-she f-f-fell", sobbed Veronica, turning to look at her boyfriend. "R-right... there, in f-front of us."

"I know. That looked worse than it was", reassured Carl. "Bailey specifically said that Cho just fainted. She's resting now, or I suppose, not resting and being told by Bailey that she should. And Weldon just got a bump in his head when Laura ran him over. I saw him with my own two eyes, he was walking and talking and everything."

"O-okay", Veronica nodded, wiping her eyes and trying to control the sniffling. Audrey patted her in the back.

"That's better", she said. "I'll see if Chris has some tissues in here." Audrey got up, opened a few doors, and at the third or fourth cabinet, reached in and took a pack. As Veronica took the tissues, blew her nose and tried to tidy up, Carl patted her on the back, got up and stretched his stiff neck.

"How are you holding up?" he asked Audrey, reaching for her hand.

Audrey took the hand. "It is pretty horrible", she replied. "But I'll be okay. I mean, it was a scare, but no one got hurt and they caught the guy, right? He can't hurt us now. Or Cho." If it wasn't for Veronica, who'd just managed to wipe her spread mascara away and seemed to be breathing just about normally now, Audrey might have sounded a lot less certain, thought Carl. He appreciated it. The last thing that was needed now would be to alarm Veronica. Not that alarming Audrey would be any better, he thought, looking at her abdomen. She was almost as big as Veronica.

Aloud he said: "Yeah, Marsha and Sean are very capable cops, he's probably locked up by now. He can't get at us." If it wasn't for the sake of Veronica, Carl himself could have sounded a lot less certain, he thought.

Just as Veronica was drinking a glass of water and Carl was for a moment focusing on Audrey, massaging her tense shoulders, the door opened and Laura peeked in. "How are you holding up?" she asked. "Okay I suppose", replied Carl as Audrey and Veronica nodded, Veronica perhaps a bit faintly.

"Really you shouldn't have been exposed to such stress", said the elderly lady apologetically. "I'm sorry. We didn't expect it to get this far, but thankfully things are now under control. Now dears, I have a suggestion for you", she continued firmly, like only an old lady can. She moved closer to the younger women, patted Veronica encouragingly on the arm and smiled at Audrey.

"Yeah?" asked Carl.

"Yes. It'd seem that despite the dramatic events of tonight, Chris and Cyrus would like to go through with the actual ceremony yet today, if their guests are up for it of course. It'll be a while before Sean and Marsha get back from the police station, so we have a bit of time to relax and get tidied up again. Since this house", she gestured around her, "wasn't really meant for such a crowd, we thought we could split up a bit. I sent Barry to get the car, so we can pack some sims in and drive to our house. He should be back any minute. It's not far, but it's a bit cold outside and I'm sure you two could use the rest. There's more space there, and places to sit down comfortably, or even lay down for a bit if you feel like it. I'll quickly come up with something to eat, I'm always prepared for some surprise guests. Then when Chris phones me and tells us Sean and Marsha are back, Barry can drive us back here. What do you say?"

"Thank you Laura", said Audrey right away, "that's very nice of you. If the ceremony is still today, I think we could all use a bit of rest first. Especially Veronica."

"I'm f..." started Veronica, but Laura cut in, somehow managing to do it politely. "I'm sure you are dear. We'll get you some nice hot chocolate, it'll help you warm up properly and relax."

"Thank you Laura", said Carl too, "it really sounds good." He offered an arm to both of his pregnant ladies. "So shall we?"

"Yeah", said Veronica with a surprisingly clear voice. "We don't want to miss the wedding right?"
