Alright, I believe I promised some grow-up spam a while ago. In fact, these pics have been sitting on my computer for about a week, as I've put off putting up the picspam, because it's so HUGE. Meanwhile, I've been busy extracting, re-dressing and re-extracting sims, and now I should have a no-cc version of everyone who is at least an adult at this point. Missing are some supporting characters, like count Pao, whom I'll need to first de-vamp, then extract and then re-vamp. (I'm not sure if I can get Lauren, apparently I'd need to de-witch, extract and re-witch to get rid of the poison green skin, but I'd like her to stay the grand witch still.) There's still a long way to go for the download archive, but at least I've gotten started.
Anyway, enough of my ramblings, on with the picspam!
The Mendoza twins appear to think I've gone crazy for posting so much picspam.
Well, really it's just the cow dancing funny.
I needed to play the Mendoza-Phillips house a little bit after Bobby's graduation since the girls had a semester to go before graduating. And since someone is always wanting a party, we threw one to pass the time.
Everyone enjoyed it in their own way. Beatrice apparently liked just soaking in the tub.
While a lot of others took up dancing. For some it was naked dancing. I've forgotten what the name of the streaker is in my hood, but I'm happy some of my sims have made friends with him - he'd be great spouse material for future generations.
A good time was had all around.
Beatrice also had a little work to do. She's wanted the makeover badges all the way through college, and has made over lots of dormies. Those badges are such a pain to get! Anyway, Beatrice got to make some futilemakeovers on her roommates just so she could gain the badge points. And she did make it to the silver badge.
Beatrice, Barbara and Mehrissa did eventually graduate, too.
In the Bruenig-Thayer household, there was just about a semester left for Chip, and two for the rest. Chip made himself very happy by maxing creativity.
Clyde, too, made himself happy by playing the guitar, although that was for maxing his music and dance enthusiasm.
There was also work to be done, and parties to be had.
Sometimes the life of a party can be tough.
"Yoohoo! We can't woohoo!"
No, not with each other. Margaret there is Clyde's girlfriend, and Glen is Clarissa's boyfriend. Both couples just happened to head upstairs at the same time, and it resulted in a traffic jam in the stairs. I giggled.
There was also other kinds of activity at the party. Like getting to know your sister's fiancé. (That's Cissy's fiancé Erik Swain.)
There was kicky bag among friends and relatives.
And there was an obligatory mascot fight, which horrified poor Jimmy Phoenix. Although this was probably only after the party.
So Chip was the next to graduate, he's supposedly about the same age as Cyrus, Bobby and Corinna.
So again it was party time, and the parents were invited too. And immediately drawn by the pool table.
Bobby and Cyrus seem to be discussing the fact that Chip's daddy is an alien.
There was pillow fighting, and no mercy for pregnant cousins.
And other party activities of course.
At this point I realized I'd again forgotten to turn off the cinematics. But no regrets, I'd never seen the graduation cinematic before and it was cute. I like this picture in particular.
So Chip grew up and moved back to Alphabetia. Makeover time!
First order of business, Chip invited his girlfriend Sunny over and asked her to move in.
And I think Sunny easily wins the award for the most unfortunate outfit of the generation.
But I'm all nice like that, so she got a makeover pronto. Or as pronto as we could. At this point I found out that my amount of cc is enough to crash the game if I try to send someone shopping for two sims at once. After two or three crashed attempts I tried the home shopping rack and each sim buying only for themself, and that my game managed. I bet Sunny was relieved to finally get out of that horrific outfit.
And here's Chip. He wasn't as unfortunate to begin with, but this is better still. Now that the kids have been growing up, I've been swapping some of them into Maxis Match versions of their hair where I've known of such a version, so I can delete the non-MM versions from my Downloads folder. Chip is one example of that.
Chip and Sunny, like the other older kids, got a few days' head start before I went to graduate the rest. And this is pretty much the first thing that happened when I let them loose from the makeover and find-a-job hassle. My first risky! Well, it's not a huge surprise that these two are going to have kids, after all, they'll be getting married soon anyway, but apparently they wanted to get started early.
Alright. Then the Custer-Patch household. What would you think you see here?
Well, that's a knowledge sim heading to class. Gee, Chloe, don't look so excited!
One more semester for Corinna too, before heading back home and asking Weldon to move in. Before that, a some red hands with Weldon, and usually after red hands what follows is a plea to write my term paper. Probably that's what happened to Weldon too.
As for Carla, she spied on the neighborhood flora and that made her feel more scientific.
Corinna preferred to spy on the hot tub.
Chess was played, and important news were shared.
Fireflies were caught. This is one of the few households where anyone has ever caught insects. I think in addition to Calista, only Carla and George have pulled that off, both autonomously. But I feel bad for the poor insects, so I tend to let them go pretty soon.
Also the burglar stopped by, only to be put back to jail. Well, at least now my sims have something to flamey-thoughtballoon about.
And again, it was graduation party time.
Weldon seems to be looking forward to living together with Corinna.
It was the usual, there was inappropriate hear-farting, flamey thought-ballooning, and some slow dancing - the variety which blocks the bathroom from others.
And Laura Corinna's mother, the ex-cheerleader who thinks she's a llama, is still affectionate with her husband Barry.
And... graduation time!
The same goes for Weldon.
For a moment I thought Corinna was cheering at her boyfriend growing up, but no, that's not the case.
It's just Barry who plays piano very well. So Corinna is the one of the Custer kids to return to her childhood home and help renovate it so that the future generations fit too.
The Custer household is also the first in Alphabetia where a pet grows old. This is Leroy, the first dog that they had. (In total they have currently three.)
So, here's Corinna post makeover.
And here's Weldon.
Corinna and Weldon were going to get their few days' head start, too, but I realized I had to do things out of order a bit. I noticed that Barry and Laura were going to grow into elderhood during those few days, and by playing the twins through graduation before that, I could have him age permaplat. So that's what I did. Chloe seems to enjoy having Ryker over. I'm pretty sure this is a party again.
But I'm not at all sure what happened here. I was busy elsewhere, and suddenly heard the bo-boing sound and found this. There didn't seem to be anyone present with whom anyone could have cheated anyone, so maybe it was just a rejected interaction. Cho hasn't really kept up with her old loves, so it's well possible that her and Ashley's relationship was down to or below seventy. Also those lost aspiration points would point towards Cho rejecting Ashley for something. Either way, it didn't matter much. Cho's already permaplat, and even the party didn't suffer.
Not with so much other stuff going on.
Later on, Cho and Ashley seemed to come along just fine.
With several couples around to keep the party score up, we had no problems at all with that.
And here's proof that I do indeed have a reason to be excited. :)
Now, when the twins came close to graduating, I realized I'd kind of screwed up. I invited Barry over, but only then remembered that all three residents of the house were going to go to the final exam at the same time, and at that moment Barry would leave. I'm not sure if it's true, but I've heard that for actually fulfilling the LTW, it'd help to have the parent on the lot when the final of the three kids graduates. If I'd realized to send, say, Carla out and have her graduate there and then keep Barry company, I could have kept him there, but I didn't.
But, nevertheless, the kids did graduate.
So now it was time for that head-start. Corinna got to do some dog-training.
Corinna and Weldon also got a date, the purpose of which you might guess. And I'm happy tell you that it worked too, as you might just about be able to see from those tiny want-slots. Safely locked and waiting for the rotation to start. Yay!
So, time for Barry and Laura to grow old. They're I think the second this generation. I haven't shown pics yet but Baudolino and Marylena are already elders, too.
And of course, Barry's LTW would not fulfill, even though three of his kids had graduated. Sigh. So I went ahead and cheated him permaplat.
It was just a quiet birthday with only Corinna and Weldon present, as I kind of ran out of time to throw a party or anything. In fact, the clock hit six before the birthday boy and girl could blow the candles out, so apparently they grew up on their own and the cakes were wasted. Oh well.
Here they are pre makeover.
And here post makeover. I'm not sure if I swapped Laura into an MM version of that hair yet, I'll need to check.
All the same, Barry seems to enjoy tub pirating now that he's an elder, and has some time on his hands. Not for long probably, I think Corinna and Weldon are going to take care of that with grandkids.
Speaking of Corinna and Weldon, random cute pic time!
And now, back to the Mendoza-Phillips household. We've got some more growing up to do!
And before that, some dancing of course.
Bobby and Mehrissa have a different pastime in mind, although they're trying to look innocent here.
Aadam is very proud of his daughters who have graduated with good grades.
As you can see, Bobby and Mehrissa were not the only ones who used the tub before the end of the party.
So, Beatrice grows up to look like a diver, and I realize that this hair actually looks good on her, better than the old one did. And I remember that I spent a long time deciding on her hair because it was hard to find one that would fit her features. Well, this time she helped me out.
Next up was Mehrissa. She didn't do half bad with that outfit, actually.
And last goes Barbara. She's a little bit more unfortunate, but could be worse.
First order of business for Barbara, too, is to invite over the future spouse. This is Tara Bertino, a fellow student whom Barbara has been dating through college. Apparently she was all nice and gave me a career LTW too. Good good.
She grew up in a nice outfit - but that won't do, stealing an outfit from your mother-in-law!
So makeover time it is again. I'm pretty pleased with them.
For Mehrissa I apparently only have this one picture. But it's the most important one. She seems to be pleased with her own makeover, so I'm pleased too. And I'm happy to realize/remember that she's actually a redhead - that old hair made her look like a brunette.
And mooooore growings-up. Are you tired of these yet?
Beatrice, too, invited a spouse/companion to move in. This is Brenda GilsCarbo, who's a fellow romancer. They've been pretty tight in college, so they get to live together. Whether they'll get married I don't know yet.
And after a little house building and making over, here's the result. Brenda doesn't seem to mind getting Mehrissa's old hair.
Soo... Next, some Bruenig-Thayers to get them graduated, too. As you can see, Cissy is very much a pop sim, and very lovable one, althought it's only her secondary. She even made friends with the cow mascot.
Clarissa preferred making friends with the cheerleader.
And painting.
And soon enough, the graduations are over, and it's again party time. The Thayer twins got a party together, and seemed to like it that way.
After a successful party, it was time to grow up.
Kinda close, actually, Clyde. Well done.
Clarissa wasn't quite as successful. Although the outfit is quite nice, it's not something I'd think she'd wear.
Cissy was the last to leave, so she picked one of her friends to placehold the spare greek house. I feel a little bad for poor Jimmy, who got used as aspiration fodder for Cho, and now has to placehold for a generation. But maybe there's someone for him next generation...
Cissy almost didn't get a party, as we'd had so many already, and I was eager to get to the growing up. But then, she had the want in her panel, and started feeling sorry for her poor little popularity side who wanted a party and didn't get one even though everyone else did. So she got one afterall.
Cissy and Erik did NOT need a llama cheering for them right then.
And so, growing up Cissy, done.
Alright, one more party household to go before the rest is just growing up and making over. Calista likes yelling at the mirror to gain some charisma.
And she also likes a good graduation party.
Some fun among the family before the big moment.
The big moment. That outfit isn't quite appropriate for someone who wants to be Rock God, Calista.
Chloe, then again, was so embarassed that she had to bury her face int the mailbox.
And last but not least, Carla's turn. The pink jeans were not the best thing in the world, but it could be worse.
When it comes to getting to invite spouses over and getting a makeover, Carla was first in line. This is Kevin Enriquez, Carla's long time boyfriend and future husband.
Not totally bad, Kevin.
There they are, a couple of makeovers later.
And here's Chloe, who moved in with Ryker. He's been waiting for her a while, as he grew up together with the main circle.
Next up is Calista, whose boyfriend is Joshua Ruben. He was a playable, so I needed to make him a dormie first to get him to move in. Only later I realized that may have caused some amnesia, but oh well.
Before...
... and after. Much better.
And here's Calista. The twins got the same outfit but color-coded once again. That's how I keep them apart.
In fact, after they had grown into random outfits and were in the sim bin, I wondered for a while which one I was supposed to move in with Ryker again, as in the sim bin you can't see first names. But Calista's dark red lipstick gave her away, and so I could take care NOT to move her in with her sister's boyfriend.
What's next? MOAR growings up! This time for Erik Swain.
Cissy and Erik moved in with Marsha and Bailey, and that house will be getting some renovation, too. Erik's outfit was on the more unfortunate side.
I had thought that you can only play TS3 with the Humble computer, but while I was giving Cissy a makeover, I heard the signature tune somewhere, and went looking since I'd just checked and they don't have the Humble computer and I had to get them just any computer to look for jobs. I found Erik playing TS3 on the cheapest computer. Well, maybe Erik is a computer wizard and was able to tune up the old computer so that it runs all kinds of games or something.
Either way, a couple of more "after" pics.
Only the Thayer kids to go! This here is Clarissa's boyfriend, Glen. Despite her being pleasure and him being romance, they've been pretty committed, so they get to live together, if not necessarily marry. We'll see.
No complaints so far, about the living arrangements or the makeovers.
As for Clyde, he moved in with Bonnie and Thomas, and was in the middle of his makeover when his girlfriend, Margaret Trottier, came over. Hence the greeting in swimtrunks.
So Margaret gets to grow up too...
... and both of them get a finished makeover. Clyde stays true to his old look, because it just looks nice on him. Margaret gets a little bit of a new something.
Phew, that sure was a loooong picpam! But, now those growings up are done for a while, and I get to look forward to some weddings and babies in Alphabetia. Yay! :)
