Last night I ran out of gas...on the highway....in the brand new car. I was under the assumption that it had a 12 gallon gas tank, which at approximately 47 mpg should last me to 564 miles. I ran out of gas at 523 miles. Unfortunately what I did not know is that the car has this weird bladder thing in it that only actually allows you to put about 10-10.5 gallons in the tank before the pump says, "no more gas for you!".
Sitting on the side of the highway, alone, in 97 degree heat waiting over an hour for the state trooper to arrive sucks.
But the car is fine, I am fine, and I bought Simon a pressie for meeting me at the Target in Carlisle on the way back, so all is well.
In other news, the new boss is here. She seems nice and supportive, but in less than 24 hours one can't really gauge anything. Our home inspection was on Thursday last week and that went well. Radon testing came in today with a fairly low number (4.0) and now we just wait on the termite inspection. Should that be sound we will close on Monday! EEEK. I'm very excited and nervous. Hopefully I'll hear from the Electrical guy and the Hardwood Floor Refinishing guy today so we can get quotes on the work we need to do before move in. So much to do, so much to do.
Who is going to come stay in our guest room? We're tons of fun, and we'll take you to Gettysburg, DC, and Shepherdstown, WV! (IMHO Shepherdstown is the most fun of the lot. It's a great little city...you know you want to go...)
