Life Moves On

Yeah, the cold turkey's not doing too well. The fact that I didn't actually close the window, and that he later had children's pictures kind of helped. What can I say? At my age, kiddie stuff is one of my weaknesses!

We watched Forrest Gump in Government today, and I kept thinking of Jaden, one of the boys I babysit, who has a slight learning disorder -- I didn't notice before, but his speech is similar to Forrest's strangely accentuated words. I cooed and oohed and ahed at how adoreable he is in my fond knowledge of him, him and his brothers. Amidst listening to Dr. Steel, I'm considering making a story about "Lady K",  a rendition of myself, and her two muses moving in next door to a little boy who plays spaceboy next door -- played by Jaden, curiously enough. I don't know why, but when I hear the song "spaceboy" I think of little Jaden in a white tee and pants (English) with a light blue-Spiderman covered blanket, pretending to be a Space man in a confiscated refrigerator box -- that is actually the plot development that brings about the story. He has his brother, Javon (because I can't forget him! with his adoreable elfish face...) who I'm debating might actually be a neighborhood kid, who is a marrionette -- more on that later. It's a bit complicated, and only one tale at a time, please. He'll have a crazy babysitter (again, myself) who has him watch the Dr. Steel show (puppet show) and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends and Alice in Wonderland when she comes over, because she can. She's one of those pathetic fangirl types -- think Bellatrix Black to Voldemort -- who worships his essence, and the good Doctor merely humours her. I really do wonder why these characters keep showing up, does it mean something? [/sarcasm] He's pleased she's educating the younger generation in his ways, but he's much more fascinated with Jaden himself, who is (in this story, I don't know about realistically) somewhat autistic/developmentally different speaking-wise, yet insanely intelligent intellectually. Lady K and crew discover that SpaceBoy isn't pretending -- he's really making himself a rocket! As evidenced by Black (or, his equivalent) complaining of his tools disappearing -- when the goggles of doom are taken is his last straw, and they go next door just in time to see him take off, two toy soldiers and a Dr. Steel-in-a-laptop watching with joy. It sounds like a delightful little story, and at least a lovely piece of fanfiction, if I can't get the Doc's permission to make it something publishable. I suppose I could just change a few details to screw around the copyright infringements, but knowing me, I'll probably just leave it be. I'm considering throwing Nate in there, too, but I might just make him a different character altogether.

Meh. I'll find out later.

Not that you lot will notice, since I'm the only one who reads this damn thing, but I've overhauled a bit -- fourteen pics to replace my lonesome Grinch (leaving one open for holidays and the like) and replacing the profile pics for each entry (what, eight of them?) and adding tags, even! *gasp!* A semblance of order! I figure, what with me actually doing stuff now, and getting my name tossed about (I cringe at my last post -- I think I'll hide it) I have to make this place presentable.

So! Camping trip this weekend. I've got two baskets of laundry next to me to be folded/packed. I also have to bring notes with me for Airship Pirates and SpaceBoy if I want to work with them while I'm out. :le sigh: Alright.

Let me get back to work.

P.S. - I think I'm going to go get a cuppa tea. Vanilla Caramel! Mmm! :P
