What do you do when you get frusterated/burned out with your character?

Try a new direction- set new goals, or step back and look at how you could go about your goals differently.
Try to figure out what is making you not have fun. Is it the people you're hanging out with? The role you play in terms of plotlines, fights, etc.
Allow your character to change- if there's some aspect that seems boring, maybe you've let your character become one dimensional. Try to come up with something new you could do, or get involved with.

Sometimes people roleplay themselves into a box, and come up with so many things that their character "wouldn't do" that it's almost impossible for them to get involved in plotlines. Let your character grow and evolve-- sometimes just the process of changing can breathe new life into your roleplay.
Characters are people-- sometimes they like to try new things. It doesn't mean you're a bad roleplayer because your character wants to try something she hasn't before, or try spending time with different people.

And, of course, if all else fails, try out a new character for a bit. But I personally would rather see people with one or two really complex, developed characters than 3 or 4 shallow, "schtick" characters

Yeah, pretty much what jyn said. I usually just figure out what is frustrating me and try and work a way out of it, same with getting burned out, just find out what I am getting bored of and slowly let my character work out of it.

I agree with Jyn and Mel on this one. It is good to mix it up with another character (where you might be able to get away with without damaging anything you are working towards). I like to do a combination of "change/alter goals" and "new character".

...And now I wish I could play my gypsy all the time...:)
