When we become brave enough to knit a sweater...

So its September and August flew by. I did finish the footies for Grayson and the shawl for his Grandmother. I will put pictures up as soon as I find the components to my digital camera such as the flash card reader(!). But for now I will just say that the socks are hysterically tacky and the shawl has made me famous! I've heard rumors that everyone at the nursing home loves the shawl and if it didn't cost me $20+ to make I'd make a ton and sell them room to room. Ahh dreams of my starter company. My website has died again, I can't seem to get the motivation to sit down and relearn html / web design. My best friend created a beautiful site but I think I'd like it to look a bit more professional. We shall see. First things first I need products to sell before I can get a website together. I guess I'll just work on some basic scarves and jewelry to get my etsy going.

As for the subject of this entry... I'm working on knitting a sweater. Now all my friends know that whenever anyone mentions me knitting something I generally say "can't we just crochet it?" because I can knit and have been knitting and crocheting since I was 12. I actually learned knitting first. But crochet is sooo much faster (for me) and when I make a mistake I just pull the yarn until its gone and start from that point but with knitting you have to find a way to wind the yarn up the work when you're 3 lines up and you discover a small hole where you've dropped a stitch and then proceed to throw the work across room sticking it in container and refinding it 2 years later :p But even though I say that now (and I'm sure I'll throw this across a room at some point!) I've still condemned myself to knitting a sweater. Its just too beautiful of a pattern to pass up and I have been staring at websites trying to figure out the best way to crochet a v neck sweater but the best directions are for knit and this sweater works the way I want to crochet with just picking up stitches and very very limited seeming. I'm knitting the sweater in a regal purple color yarn and I haven't decided on the accenting yarn I'm thinking either just using the same color or tacking it up a bit with some feathered yarn or maybe just a plain black or light purple.. who knows I'll continue to think about it until I have to make that decision.

As for life...

I recently got a kitten named Tabitha. She's adorable when she's not wreaking havoc on the house and inhabitants. I'll post pictures once I take some and find the camera equipment. My car's driver side door handle is broken so I've been letting myself in through the passenger door for about 2 weeks now. Robby came over Wednesday and tried to fix it and declared that it is truly broken but he's going to go to the junk yard and try to find me a new handle. Silly me just thought that a wire or something popped off the inside of the door handle. Oh well hopefully he can fix it for me. Also, Grayson ran over a rock with a lawn mower. Now silly me found the rock in the garden when I was randomly chopping down bushes on Monday. Then I carelessly placed the rock in the grass (I think so the mud would dry) and then was going to move it up to the pond. But.. I forgot (oops!). So now the lawn mower is broken and we're hopefully going to find someone to fix it for us either G's dad or maybe my new personal mechanic ;) I kinda feel bad about the lawn mower since it is technically my fault. But, Grayson wasn't too mad about it.

Next week is my business trip and ironically its at the same time as Grayson's Manager meeting in Vegas. That's right he gets to go to Vegas! I'm so jealous, I'm going to Jersey and he's going to Vegas.. jeez. Oh well, I'm sure Vegas will be in my future someday. Hopefully our roommate will be ok taking care of a bird, rabbit and a kitten.
