Holiday tidings
USA Today reports that "a record number of soldiers--109--have killed themselves this year" which would be the highest number of suicides since the number first started being counted in 1980. Everyone who says that we must "support our troops" by keeping them in Iraq can fuck off.
The Hollywood writers' strike is still not over and a long standoff seems imminent. The industry execs are selfish greedy idiots. I hope they shoot themselves in their leather-clad feet with this.

Basically, a group of teens on a subway were yelling "Merry Christmas" when another group, coming back from a Hanukkah celebration, yelled back "Happy Hannukah." The first group then reacted with taunts and violence, landing one of the Jewish teens and another young man who stepped to his defense (a Muslim) in the hospital. Yeah, War on Christmas and poor oppressed Christians, anybody?
