So we all know I'm into dressing up, and clothes, and all that jazz. And I do love when people notice my efforts, and was quite gratified when not one, but several of my professors told me that they actively look forward to seeing what I'll wear to class each day. But I'm wondering if it's becoming a bit much lately. Recently I've found that some people don't even recognize me unless they see what I am wearing. At Tent State, I ran into several people who didn't remember who I was when I came up to say hi to them until I took off my coat, and then they were like, "Ooooh, I love what you're wearing. Oh! You were that girl who wore that other thing yesterday!" Another girl did know who I was, but she said she remembered me because of what I wore to meetings. And a third girl, when asked her first impression of me, also mentioned my clothes as the main/only thing. To put a cap on all of this, An, who is one of my closest friends, recently totally passed me on the street without recognizing me, but she did notice my socks (and maybe if she'd looked higher than that, she'd have seen me, hah).

On the one hand, this is all quite funny, but on the other, I think it's a bit odd. Does this mean I can go completely incognito if I just dress the way I used to in highschool (gray-blue jeans and gray-blue flannel shirt)?
