I used to want to be a nun, now I want to be a reverend

Met up with Shauna (greensword), Krystal (keikokat), Thomas (suburbansamurai), Nadia (antiscian), and Alice (sagemessalina) at Union Jack's tonight. That's the pub/bar where Marissa (rissyau) works as hostess, so even though she was busy on shift, we could see her and chat for a bit. It was rather louder than I expected it to be, and very crowded. Ironic, really, because I wanted to go to a restaurant-type place so that we could talk in comfort, but instead ended up continually shouting "What? What?" over the table at everybody.

I also forgot my camera, but Thomas had a cell phone cam, so if he figures out how to upload the pics, I'll share the blurry photos with you all.

Krystal regaled us with stories of Spain, and the pieces that I could hear of them were very interesting. :-P That was where I did my main part of "What did you say?" shouting. Then Nadia, Shauna and I drew stuff all over Thomas' arms, because that's always a good time. He's now not allowed to take a shower until he gets back to Albion and shows his arms to Rachel, who will then (hopefully) photographically document that reminder of our night.

The integration of various friend circles continues ferociously.

I also found out tonight that a friend of the family became an ordained minister/reverend through an online service in order to officiate a friend's wedding. He said it cost something like $15 bucks. I looked it up online, and found that there are several such places that instantly ordain people online--and one of them even does it for free. Supposedly, it really is legal, too. The site that offers free ordination also offers free "Absolution from all sin," which I think is pretty silly, but the ordination idea is quite enticing. I'm now seriously considering doing that--I might even pay the 20 bucks to get the printed certificate. It just seems like a useful thing to have, from a practical standpoint. And then, if any of my non-religious friends want to get married, I can officiate!
