Just so my flist doesn't think I've become an obsessed church hater, there is much more going on in my life right now. I have friends that were wanting to hear about the church thing specifically and I've just been too stressed to get to everything else happening ( Read more... )

Oh, Edwardian clothes! My new novel is set 1906-08, and one of the fun things about it was researching the fashions and writing about them. I managed a whole chapter - and my male beta reader said it wasn't too much :-) Such lovely, feminine clothes, and a period when a "fuller" figure was admired.

I love the new Doctor Who. I grew up on the old one; they've managed to keep what I loved about the old shows, while spending some serious money on production. I haven't seen Torchwood yet. I enjoyed Black Books a lot, too. Have you seen Hamish Macbeth? That was a fun series.

Great news about your granny! Mr Kimi's father had heart surgery a few years ago - he's now 88, and in wonderful health. It's amazing what can be done now.

Fuller figures that weren't corsetted to death. It was a real step forward for women. I adore this time period in clothing more than any other and can't wait to have some fun with an outfit for Sara.

I haven't seen Hamish Macbeth. I just had the hubby look it up and add it to our netflix queue. I hope they manage to get online viewing for it. I watch all my tv there now. LOVE netflix.

And YES it is so amazing what they can do now. With her brains still in good shape there was really no reason to limit my grandmother's health just because she was older. How could I have entertained such a foolish notion? I'm humbled and repentant and so glad she's still kicking.

School musicals are so much fun. I loved drama club. I tried a little of everything from lead role to any number of jobs backstage. I really liked makeup, but the best part was the camaraderie and the magic of bringing something to life.

I'm so glad you discovered something to help your health.

An auntie had a pacemaker, and it made a world of difference in how she felt.

I love David Tennant as the Doctor. He has adorable facial expressions.

I've been a little distracted by the church stuff lately, too. But, it's great to get a peak into the rest of your life as well.

School plays, I love them! We are looking at a creative and performing arts school for Gabriel. They start plays in kindergarten, so we may be watching from the audience soon.

Glad you figured out the B12 thing. My mom was always giving us that, but I didn't know it was such a big deal. I hope you start feeling better soon.

So glad to hear your grandmother is doing so well. Extending life, the wonders of science. I am grateful too, since my dad got a liver transplant. As long as the quality of life is good, I'm all for medical intervention. :)

Last time I spoke wiht you, you weren't feeling well, I hope you continue to figure your medical stuff out.
