I was about to give you a shove. I have a new person on my list with a 13 year old son that was diagnosed a couple of days before Christmas with Type1. I was thinking of you for a good contact for her. Her son's name is Ben too. How's your Ben doing now that he's getting bigger and fiestier and navigating the school thing a bit more?
I need a shove now and then! I forgot how fun it is to read through all my friends posts. And I'm always whining that I have no email, but HELLO...gotta show some interest in others first....
Yeah, I'm a little dumb sometimes!
Definitely feel free to point your friend my way if she wants to talk. My Ben is ok. His a1c has been bouncing between 9.7 and 7 for the past 4 checkups and it's irritating because we're not doing anything different from one month to the next, despite appearances. The doc was threatening not to give him his new pump and I was seriously pissy because I can't control the whole universe, sorry! Some months he's just going to have bad numbers. Anyway...we got the pump, and things are winding down now that we're through the holidays. Hopefully we can get some decent records for the next visit.
Take his pump away..what the heck? Ben is getting bigger plain and simple. That is a bigger dip than they'd like, but we were told that 7.4 is the perfect goal for kids, so Ben is fine. Shoot how many kids - teens run over 12-15 most of the time? ODB has always been 9 and below, so no matter how out of control he seems, he's really not done that badly. Ben is freakin' healthy as a horse LOL Ben is gonna get hold of gum and such from friends when you aren't there..it's gonna happen duh. grrrrrr

Wouldn't it be lovely if their pumps and meters would e-mail the results right to our inbox. I'd pay extra for that service. I bet they could easily add a device that does it. All the mobile phones have web service available, right? I suppose most diabetics don't need to be emailed with their results. *sigh* It's just the mom's left out in the cold
