As a relatively recent and clearly fanatical convert to the awesomeness that is David Tennant, I’ve been scrambling to get my hands on all DT’s works to date. Thanks to the fabulous
buffyaddict13 who so kindly sent me copies, I got to see Blackpool, Einstein & Eddington, and Recovery this week! Add in Hamlet and Doctor Who: End of Time in the same week and I’m

No one hardly ever talks about Blackpool, so I was excited to read someone elses thoughts on it.
It was a weird show. I wish America would do something simular to it since Glee has made the music based medium on television popular again.
As brilliant as the show was, I did not like most of the characters until about episode 5 or the last episode. Not just Ripley either. I had a problem with everyone. No one else who I have talked to has had that problem with it, so I must be a weirdo.
That show also tainted my brain with its music selections.
I work at a Cracker Barrel and they play "The Gambler" and "Walk Tall" ALL THE TIME and I giggle everytime. I was also at a bar recently and someone sang "The Boy with a Thorn in his Side" kareoke style and I fell out of my chair laughing.
Casanova on you tube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nq-ZtZxKBmI
It is 17 parts. There is part one. You will find the rest there.
You know where to pirate a Hamlet? LOL

They did. CBS attempted in 2007. It was called Viva Laughlin and was cancelled after only two episodes.
As for Hamlet...lots of love to be found in tennant_love. Check the older posts from just after Christmas. *wink*

I never expected to like Blackpool, much less love it the way I do. It just makes me laugh and laugh. At the same time, I can totally agree about the characters. Every one of them are bastards of varying degrees and fashions. I don't really like them, but I love them. Know what I mean? I kind of have a thing for flawed characters, though.
The song thing is so funny, and I'm right there with you. I don't think I can ever hear "The Boy with a Thorn in his Side" again without lapsing in to extreme laughing fits. I would have completely embarrassed myself at that bar if I'd been in your shoes.
Ooo, thank you so much for the Casanova link!!
I got Hamlet through tennant_love. There were a couple posts of it right after Christmas. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll try to backtrack to the link for you.

It is a crying shame too. It really is a great song alone if you take away the dancing drug bust. As for embarrassing myself, I was not terribly embarrassed since I was not the one singing that song badly in public. I would have laughed regardless on whether the vocalist was bad or not, but that fact that they were drunk and awful was the cherry on top.
Casanova is a good time. There are some WTF and major LOL moments, but as a whole it manages to be whimsical, pervy and surprisingly profound at some points.
As for the Hamlet files, I have an XP and it is not getting along with the pando file or the avi files. So I will probably just order the DVD in the spring time. My old university is doing Hamlet in April, so I want to show my friend Rosencrantz how it's suppose to be done and set her for success.

I don't know much UK pop music, so I wasn't familiar with a lot of the songs going into it. Sadly, I'll probably never be able to judge them accurately now. On the other hand, we've gained gleeful phrases like "dancing drug bust." \o/

Hee!
Casanova is downloading as I type this! *clappy hands*
Sorry to hear you're having Hamlet file trouble. I wish I had another format I could send it to you in, but all I've got is avi. I hope they hurry along with the DVD release. What a nice thought for your friend. I wish her well!

If you like DW, you will love Casanova. He is basically the Doctor in tights and not asexual.
I am so glad to know that someone else throws themselves "Insert Awesome Actor/Actress" festivals for the pure fun of it.
We only have maybe 2 or 3 interest, but do you mind if I friend you? You seem really funny and polite. LOL
