(no subject)
so the birthday was good...
anne and i got dressed up and looked super cute and had every intention of dining at cheesecake factory or another nice downtown restaurant; however, by the time we got there we were starving and the 2 hour wait just didnt sound that appealing...so we hit up casa grande instead; we were so overdressed and stuck out like sore thumbs. everyone thought we were going somewhere fabulous afterwards, but since we'd only gotten dressed up for the hell of it, we told them that the rest of the plans for the evening were a surprise lol. topped off the evening with grant and kathy's Xmas party...good times and even better champagne punch! i talked to joe, who was bailing on the snowboarding trip to boone, BUT i got the best surprise ever that same night. christopher coyle (the prodigal son) called me to let me know that he was going to be in boone when we were (how crazy!) and i love joe crowell, but chris coyle...god damn...that's good people.
so sunday it was off to boone...kind of a bumpy start, i HAD to get an oil change before we left and made the mistake of going back to carnett's which took an hour and a half for the fucking oil change and i wouldn't even let them wash my car they were so backed up. so i rushed over and got anne, then headed over to town lake to get my boat show buddy, kit. the car ride to boone didn't really seem that long; kit kept us pretty entertained from the back seat. had some battery issues with my car (made for quite an eventful trip). sunday night we got to the hotel, unpacked and headed to sugar mtn. just to hang out and get excited about the next couple days of snowboarding. kit got a $5.50 beer (ridiculous) and we sat by the fire and made fun of people skiing then headed back to the hotel to sleep.
monday...rode from 9-3ish with a break for lunch; it sure as hell didn't feel like almost a year since i'd last snowboarded and it was fantastic! chris and his friend jason got there right as we were leaving, so we said hi and made plans to meet up later that evening. we went back to the hotel got showers and rested for a bit then got dinner on the way back to the mountain (probably the worst restaurant ever)...bought some beer at the food lion then it was back to sugar. sat in the lounge at sugar drinking 15 of our 18 beers and trying not to get caught. chris and justin came up for a bit and chatted <3 them...bought some more beer on the way home and drank a lot more at the hotel, but still somehow managed to go to bed by 11:30 after an intense game of air hockey and several failed attempts at winning a stuffed animal out of one of those damn arcade things.
tuesday, woke up not hung over at all (fabulous, right?!) anne and kit were a little slower to get up but whatever...ate our free breakfast, met chris and justin at the mtn and rode until about 2 then headed home...long ass car ride, but we made it
