The Greatest Day
It was with awe and joy that I reacted when, over 30 years ago, I found out I was going to have a baby. I, who swore throughout my teen years and into my early 20's that I wouldn't bring children into this wretched and dirty world, met a guy who was avid about children, and who somehow made me enthusiastic about reproducing. When my baby was born--the only one that my body would be able to have, as it turned out--it was instant love.
What a great feeling, what a great child, and such an incredible adult. I'm so lucky to be the mother of Erica Griffin Mulkey. Brilliant, musical Unwoman is 30 years old today, and I still find her to be amazing and fun. Yay!
