My eldest child (by way of my beloved husband & his ex) had an iphone. Notice the use of the word had. grrrrrrrrrr. She set it down and turned to help a friend. Meanwhile a young man in some kind of high school sport picked it up to look at it. ::head:desk:: Immediately some hispanic young man said, "That's my phone." Not knowing whose it was, and being too young to check to make sure (hey! this is a very very expensive phone! you can't even get insurance for the frelling thing), he handed it over. ::sigh::
Sarah called the police (or that's my impression from what my husband told me). She reported it to the phone company. She went by to check about getting a new phone & called me to have me get in touch with them so that she could get access to have her number reactivated once she got a cheapy phone to use. But damn. We'd gotten her the phone as a present because she really really really wanted it. This sux.
To young adults having to learn things the hard way...
