So I'm awful and busy and only just now got around to reading some of the brilliant fics up over at
hp_diversity for their mini-fest. I left some fun prompts and two of them were filled, one twice! *bounces*
Don't Ask Me For Forever by
lar_laughs (Dean/Ginny, PG-13, 2200) After her divorce/break-up with Harry, Ginny is pissed off and too proud to take any money from Harry or her family. When she winds up broke and needing cash fast she turns to her old friend Dean, a bounty hunter, and convinces him to give her a job. Things get crazy. I love how they fall right back into their old comfortable ways and Dean is made of all things delightful. Seriously, how much do I love him? (a lot)
And two lovely fills for the prompt: Lee Jordan/Katie Bell, long distance relationships are hard enough without finding out from the newspaper that your girlfriend is lying in a hospital bed in a curse-induced coma. How Lee reacts/deals.
The Most Important Letter by
lar_laughs (PG, ~600) Awesome scene setting. The actual premise of this is so gloriously normal in such a NOT normal situation. I love it.
Not Too Late (Never Too Late) by
leigh_adams (PG, ~600) A lovely, slightly angsty twist on the prompt and great use of Angelina.
Also some awesome fics featuring the always awesome Zacharias Smith:
Early Morning Tea by
bluemermaid (Zacharias/Cho Chang, PG, ~750) This is beautiful. Cho is sweet, pragmatic, and wonderfully fleshed out. Zacharias is endearingly abrasive. And the prose is gorgeous, the post-war observations powerful and beautifully drawn.
Not a Love Story by
leigh_adams (Zacharias/Parvati Patil, PG-13, ~2200) HOLY BUCKETS, THE BANTER! The snarky, amazing, awesome, hilarious, fantastically creative, insult-hurling, laugh-out-loud, perfect banter. An awesome premise, some of the best dialogue I've read in a long while, one of my favorite things: creative insults!, and executed perfectly.
Lots more goodies over at the comm if you're so inclined, plus I'm interested to see what
hprarefest brings. Mmmmm, delightful.
