Procrastination, I know thee well ...

So instead of cleaning my kitchen and working diligently on my fic for hp-beholder, as I vowed to do today, I have spent much of yesterday and today archiving my fics over at AO3. I now have like 70 fics there including (I think) all my fest and longer pieces plus a number of the drabbly bits that I particularly enjoyed/were popular when cross posted/were a ( Read more... )

Ah, I hear you about the procrastination. I had a whole week off and still managed to get only half my hp_beholder fic drafted.

But how nice that you've got everything on AO3! I did the same thing two years ago -- spent two days loading all my fic, including Star Trek VOY stories that I had written in 1999-2001 and that were scattered in several places. It's great to have everything in one safe place.

I really love AO3-- it's a great archive! It will definitely never be an ideal place for HP fandomy stuff but it's still a really great archive. I love being able to sort and filter and search so easily.

Your icon is the best! I love it. :)

Hey, archiving on AO3 is productive! The best procrastination is in doing something else. :D

YAY! I think I'm all archived now, which is awesome! Except for some of my drabbly bits-- I transferred some, but some I didn't bother with.

I've been in the process for six months or more of updating my master list and uploading to AO3. Maybe I'll get it done someday. I was very productive once upon a time... I'll have to look up your work over there.

Goos luck on writing! Doubt I will get any done this week at all meh.

I kept meaning to make a master list, but now I probably won't. I can just link over to AO3. (Everything full length plus about half my drabbly bits are over there now.) It would be nice to have one, but I just don't want to deal with all the coding and links and everything. I think my layout is reasonable easy if someone comes searching for a specific pairing or character or something. So that'll have to do for now. :) But seriously-- very impressed with your ability and dedication to creating a masterlist!

It can be time consuming and frustrating, though at least this time around I'm reformatting the old list so most of the coding is in place already. The key is to make a template for each part of the list, because copy and paste is your friend. Mostly I have one because some people prefer different archives so I'm in many places. Aww thanks though it'll be more impressive when I actually finish the new one lol
