So, RL is completely sucking liek woah for me right now, but I got to go home early today (yay!), and so I figured I'd go do something fun. And the first bit of fun is the seven songs meme, snagged from both
floridapeaches and
dahliablue .
List seven songs you are into right now, no matter what the genre,
whether they have words, or even if they're not any good, but they must
be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your
LiveJournal along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to
see what they're listening to.
California This is my Sam song. And since I'm currently trying to write an SPN fic, this song has been on repeat on my iTunes for quite a bit now. Besides, it's Darren :).
Do You Want To It's not so much the merits of this song as it is the story behind it. My little brother was sharing music with me, and I clicked on this song and Jimmy says, "You know, this song is about buttsex. *Gay* buttsex." And I nearly fell off the bed. My little brother had just said buttsex to me. And then I started to say, "Is there another *kind* of buttsex?" (channeling Jack Nicholson's Col. Nathan Jessup) but luckily, I thought well, duh, of *course* there is before that train of though came out of my mouth. Of course, then I'm sitting there thinking, "now, how can I add this song to my cd without him noticing," because he doesn't know I write buttsex stories (like that's a surprise to anyone), and then he says, "You should add it to your cd for the amusement value," and so score me! This song never ceases to amuse me, mostly because every time I hear it, I hear Jimmy say "buttsex."
Enough to Go By This is my Dean song. And it's Vienna, whom I have developed a scary affection for. It's just...gorgeous.
The Green Fields of France Dropkick Murphys, whom I love, singing a nice antiwar ballad, which I have a soft spot for. It's just...melancholic and haunting.
I Don't Want to Know This is my favorite Steve song, and Steve is probably my favorite artist at the moment. He's just so...soothing. And sing-along-able. It's nice :).
Me & the Moon I love me some Gaelic Storm, and this song we got to sing along to at their concert, so it's currently my fave.
More Than I Deserve From the Kane: Live in London album. I just love this song. It's a silly love ballad, but it's pretty and it's Chris and Steve! How can you go wrong??
And, because I couldn't resist...Bonus songs!
Because I love Kane and Steve so much I found it hard to choose, here are my votes for next favorite song:
One More Shot Steve writing, Chris singing. How can you go wrong? And with lines like "I've got this empty house/filled with so many things," how can you not love it?
Come Around More Alabama This was my first introduction to Steve. And it's a double bonus...Jensen's singing backup for this song :).
And now, more fun stuff. Because I am an idiot, I have signed up for two challenges: SPN Harlequin and
reel_spn. I have a good handle on my Harlequin fic (more on that later, but I'm having some trouble with my
reel_spn fic. So if you're interested in my plot babbling, click on :).
So, my movie is Top Gun, with Jensen as Maverick (apparently, I have this thing for Jensen in Tom Cruise's roles, now), but I don't want to *call* him Maverick, cuz he's gonna be different. So I need a new callsign for him. I was thinking "Hollywood," but that was the callsign of one of the people in the show, so that's iffy. And Chris is going to be Goose, only his callsign is going to be "Cowboy." And Welling and Rosenbaum are going to be Iceman and Slider, (Welling's callsign is "Superman"), but I have no callsign for Rosenbaum besides "Rosey," and I don't really like that. And Jared needs a callsign, and I was thinking something along the lines of "Sasquatch," but this is the military, and they're far more likely to call Jared something like "Tiny." So basically, I need help with callsigns. Any of my lovely friends out there have any ideas?? Please???
And now, I must needs go to dinner. Enjoy the music!
