So going home for the length of a weekend was good. Thurs night as soon as I got home I got to see Steve, which of course was amazing. The three weeks we were apart def felt longer than they actually were. He had to study for his commercial pilot checkride the next day, so I did some reading, hung out and quizzed him a little before we went to bed.
The next day, I got him to the airport (his car is still on Long Island) at like 7:30am for his test, then went and took a nap, ran some errands, did homework and had lunch with my mom. I thought he was going to call around 11:30 when the oral part of hte test was over, but it turned out they got to do the flight portion too, and so he passed it all in one shot! I was a lot more excited than I thought I would be, and I couldn't stop hitting him. Other highlights of the day included his sister dumping balloons and confetti on him from the laundry shoot, and later her fabulous quote, "when's your first commercial?" we laughed a lot. went out to dinner with the fam to chili's for a celebration dinner, and that was good times as well. it was just so good that he got it done with, cos then we could do fun stuff like go see some ppl at canesius and just hang out.
got to bed early, slept at my house the second night, then this morning woke up and ate breakfast before doing some more running around and paperwork at the airport. saw some more ppl, had lunch with my mom and don, and took the best nap i have ever had. for real, it was so amazing... i was so tired and i just passed out, and of course sleeping wiht someone is always so much better... i'm going to miss that for the next month.
although i must say, we are doing pretty well with seeing each other fairly frequently. this i am really glad about, becuase it makes things not so tough. and it's going well anyways, we talked about how this is different than other long distance relationships we've both done, the trust is just so solid, and it's good that we can both do our own thing. then when we're together again, it's just amazing and the time is spent enjoying each other, not being sad that we have to say goodbye again soon. quality.
i also went to sigma nu's party for a bit tonight, and saw some strange things... let me just say it's way better to sit at the door than try to move around inside. jason will attest to this. tomorrow = massive amounts of homework, and possibly a shift of work. check, check.
